Eaton's Commercial Products and Assemblies division is currently seeking a Material Handler-Forklift Operator to join our team. This position is based out of our Sumter, SC facility. The primary function of this role is to be responsible for providing manufacturing expertise and support in the Shipping area including, but not limited to, allocation of materials, planning, scheduling, verifying, receiving, and shipping in either the Front or Back Storeroom. No relocation benefit is offered for this position.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
You will utilize computer and perform cycle counts of components. Analyze cycle count information to determine root cause and corrective action. Resolve all errors by research and auditing of transactions.
You will operate forklifts and cranes to transport and locate equipment and materials to required areas.
You will receive, document, store stage and issue all job-related material to satisfy production requirements.
You will support assembly and fabrication requirements for materials as needed.
You will package, create and band equipment, parts, materials, products and accessories to minimize damage during shipment or staging.
You will apply labels, stickers, stencils as required for identification and ease of storage or shipping.
You will comply with all safety and industrial hygiene requirements, including proper use of personal protective equipment and operation of equipment in a safe and competent manner. Understand and meet all departmental safety objectives and goals.
You will perform routine preventative maintenance when required to ensure peak performance of all manufacturing equipment.
Qualifications:
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
Forklift and/or crane operation experience to transport and locate equipment and materials to required areas.
Broad range of knowledge in materials planning, scheduling, receiving, shipping, and tracking systems.
High school diploma or GED required from an accredited institution.
Only candidates residing within the immediate area of Sumter (50 miles) will be considered for this position.
Must be legally authorized to work in the US on a permanent basis without company sponsorship.

Job Description:
Reporting to the Extrusion Supervisor the successful candidate will be responsible for participating in the development and implementation of sound material handling practices to support Total Customer Satisfaction of both internal and external customers. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Manage central material system activities; work with supervisors, set-ups and extrusion operators regarding daily schedule and material changes. Operate industrial truck or electric hoist to assist in loading or moving materials and products.
Support extrusion and finishing departments with material/equipment moves. Make sure extrusion lines do not run out of materials and finishing areas are changed over promptly and any materials needed are supplied in a timely manner to eliminate any un-necessary downtime.
Maintain accurate inventory controls by adhering to CPI procedures and perform material handling functions such as documentation and recordkeeping in a timely manner.
Load and unload materials onto or from pallets, racks, trays and shelves. Remove sample materials and mark them with identifying tags/information.
Maintain a clean and organized work area, by following daily housekeeping and 5S standards. Support employees with value-added activities. Continuous improvement and 5S.
Communicate all job orders and their status to other material handlers at shift change.
