Job Description:
The Engineering Enablement System Analysis and Modeling team at Analog Devices is seeking a Design Evaluation Engineer Intern with strong interests in electromagnetic modeling and characterization. You will contribute to developing measurement and simulation solutions for electromagnetic interference (EMI), signal integrity, complex packages, passive devices, and system-level interconnects. This role involves collaboration with engineering groups worldwide, including teams focused on IC design, packaging, and evaluation PCBs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in developing tools and methods for design, modeling, analysis, and troubleshooting from DC to 100+ GHz, covering both on-die and off-die environments
- Support measurement and simulation for EMI and signal integrity
- Collaborate with global engineering teams on system-level product design
- Document results and present findings to the Electromagnetic Modeling team
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with 3D electromagnetic simulation software and fundamentals of electromagnetic/network theory
- Familiarity with microwave theory (S, Z, Y parameters; transmission line theory); able to create lumped element models
- Experience with EMI modeling/measurement and/or antenna design is a plus - Knowledge of signal integrity for PCBs and IC packages
- Experience with PCB layout, assembly, and testing; understanding of IC package construction
- Familiarity with circuit simulation tools (e.g., Keysight ADS, Cadence Spectre)
- Modeling of passive components (inductors, baluns, capacitors, transmission lines)
- Experience with programming languages such as Python, MATLAB, or C/C++ for modeling and algorithm development.
- Experience in machine learning or artificial intelligence is a plus.
- Hands-on experience with lab equipment (network analyzer, spectrum analyzer, oscilloscope, etc.); troubleshooting skills
- Microwave wafer probing and calibration experience is a plus, but not required

We are seeking an experienced Test Engineer, Mechanical and Fluid Systems to design, build, and operate large-scale test equipment for hydraulic turbines, electrical generation powertrains, and high-power equipment. This role requires deep expertise in fluid dynamics, process piping, and mechanical system integration.
As a Test Engineer, you will lead the mechanical design and integration of test rigs that handle pressurized water and air to transfer energy. You will work closely with software and controls engineers to create integrated test environments that push the boundaries of power generation technology. This is a hands-on role where you will prototype, build, and troubleshoot alongside world-class engineers and technicians.
You will own the end-to-end mechanical development of test systems-from conceptual design through fabrication, assembly, and operation-ensuring our test infrastructure can withstand the extreme conditions required for breakthrough energy technology development.
Responsibilities
Design, build, modify, and operate custom test rigs for hydraulic turbines, powertrains, and power electronics systems.
Design fluid systems and piping networks, including flow/pressure drop analysis and component sizing and selection (pumps, valves, regulators, piping).
Design process piping and plant layouts with emphasis on rapid deployment and practical solutions.
Design tanks, structures, rigging, and lifting equipment for large loads, including cranes and forklifts.
Develop Process and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) for test rigs.
Create 3D CAD models and assemblies using NX.
Develop test methodologies, procedures, and safety protocols.
Integrate mechanical systems with electrical and control systems in cross-functional collaboration.
Interface with tradespeople and vendors for equipment procurement and subcontracted work.
Perform hands-on assembly, integration, troubleshooting, and testing.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
5-10+ years of experience in large-scale fluid systems design and testing.
Strong knowledge of fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, and heat transfer.

The Longview Liquid Packaging facility produces bleached paperboard used to make cartons and cups for liquids such as milk, juice, coffee, and sake. The facility employs about 500 people and produces 260,000 metric tons of paperboard each year -- the equivalent of 6 billion liter-sized milk cartons.
