The opportunity will commence in the summer term of 2026 and will be awarded to an outstanding student who is majoring in mechanical engineering. The student selected as the Amentum Advanced Solutions Scholar will work at Amentum' Tullahoma, Tennessee office. The student will work under the supervision of a technical manager and mentor in the Process Mechanical and/or Machine Design group - groups that perform engineering design of complex testing equipment and facilities for the automotive and aerospace industries. Intern students will work 40-hour work weeks for approximately 10 weeks during the months of June, July, and August (negotiable). Students will work on project teams under the direction of a manager and with the assistance of a mentor, are required to attend planned activities, and must make an end-of-assignment presentation to other co-ops and Amentum staff. It is the responsibility of the selected candidate to make their own housing arrangements for the duration of the internship period. Amentum can provide suggestions for housing options in the local area.
