What we look for in our MechanicalEngineer Interns:

* Performing engineering calculations to support mechanical design and equipment selection, including thermal load analyses, hydronic calculations, and fan pressure calculations
* Designing and coordinating HVAC systems and components
* Sustainable design analyses supporting system and equipment selection as well as sustainability certification such as LEED and ILFI. These can include energy, carbon, and water studies
* Energy and carbon analysis to develop decarbonization and building electrification strategies

CAD Modeling & Drafting

Produce detailed fabrication, weldment, and assembly drawings including dimensions, tolerances, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing), finishes, and material specifications.
Generate Bill of Materials (BOMs), exploded views, and part identifiers.
Apply and maintain company drafting standards, including title blocks, layer conventions, revision formats, and drawing templates.
Design Support & Revision Control
Review and interpret blueprints, engineering sketches, proposals, and technical specifications.
Update and revise drawings based on Engineering Change Requests (ECRs) or production feedback.
Maintain proper revision history and documentation control according to company procedures.
Manufacturing & Fabrication Collaboration

(KCS) is seeking a motivated and innovative Mechanical/Structural Drafter with the attitude and skills to support heavy industrial construction projects through CAD 3D modeling and the generation of drawings using AutoDesk Inventor, AutoCAD and Microstation in accordance with contract requirements. The modeling and drawings are required to communicate everything from part details to the construction site model with the installation instruction set required to meet the customer's objectives and KCS quality and efficiency standards. This position is supported with the latest in computer technology and CAD software is maintained on subscription.

Complete requested technical modeling and drawing tasks using CAD software
Review and interpret internal, customer or vendor supplied technical drawings
