Conduct chemical analysis of body fluids (blood, urine, spinal fluid) to identify normal and abnormal components. Perform automated and manual hematology testing, studying blood cells for counts and morphology. Conduct blood group, type, and compatibility testing for transfusions; record reactions and enter results into the computer system. Perform urinalysis and serology testing according to established protocols; document results appropriately. Set up, read, and report results from bacteriological cultures. Conduct quality control studies to ensure accuracy of clinical data and document findings and actions taken. Record and monitor daily temperatures of instruments, refrigerators, freezers, and laboratory rooms. Perform and document routine preventative maintenance on lab equipment according to schedules and procedures. Conduct phlebotomy and specimen collection as needed.     Minneola Healthcare is seeking a dedicated and qualified Medical Laboratory Technologist (MLT) or Medical Technologist/Medical Laboratory Scientist (MT/MLS) to join our team. As a critical access hospital, we are committed to providing high-quality healthcare services to our community. Job Description: We are currently hiring for a full-time MLT or MT/MLS position at Minneola Healthcare. The ideal candidate must have a degree in medical laboratory science or a related field and be proficient in performing laboratory tests and analyses. Responsibilities will include working in all areas of the lab, including Blood Bank (excluding Microbiology), ensuring accurate and timely test results for patient care. Responsibilities: Perform laboratory tests and analyses accurately and efficiently, following established protocols and quality control procedures. Work in all areas of the lab, including Blood Bank, to provide comprehensive testing services to support patient care. Adhere to safety protocols and regulatory standards to maintain a safe and compliant laboratory environment. Collaborate with healthcare providers and other laboratory staff to ensure timely and accurate reporting of test results. Participate in on-call rotation for weeknights and weekends/holidays as required. Maintain accurate documentation of laboratory procedures and test results, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. Continuously seek opportunities for professional development and stay updated on advancements in laboratory technology and best practices. Qualifications: Degree in Medical Laboratory Science or a related field. MLT or MT/MLS certification preferred. Previous experience working in a clinical laboratory setting is desirable but not required. Strong attention to detail and ability to work accurately under pressure. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment. Flexibility to work rotating weeknight call and weekend/holiday coverage as needed.
