Microstrategy developer job description

• Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and improve Business Intelligence and analytical solutions (Reports, Dossiers, Schema)
• Collaborate with business partners and engineering teams on requirements and design for future enhancements and new BI solutions
• Develop schema objects, including attributes, facts, and hierarchies
• Create complex metrics, filters, prompts, custom groups, consolidations and transformations
• Create documentation to support Dossiers, Reports, best practices, commonly occurring customer issues.
• Provide L3 support of the MicroStrategy platform to ensure timely completion and availability of BI reporting. Analyzes and resolves problems and provides technical assistance as is necessary. Implements corrective actions
• Participate in code reviews and ensure that all solutions are aligned to pre-defined architectural and requirement specifications.

Requirements

• 5+ years of Enterprise level MicroStrategy development, modeling, and architecture
• Working knowledge with MicroStrategy (2020 and higher) development tools including Architect, Desktop, Web, Object Manager, Enterprise Manager, Command Manager, Integrity Manager
• Demonstrated experience as traditional developer with MicroStrategy applications including reports, dossiers, data visualization, data marts and cubes
• Ability to write SQL statements to validate reports with backend data in SQL Server.
• Demonstrated experience with directly interacting end users, to help resolve production issues.
• Demonstrated experience and ability to deliver results quickly in a fast-paced environment on multiple projects
• Able to be agile in thinking and approach to solve the problem at hand
• Knowledge of SDLC, Agile and Datawarehouse.
• Ability to work with other IT groups and business users
• Experience with Text and Speech Analytics projects a strong plus.
• Previous experience with Jenkins, Perforce is a plus.
• Bachelor's Degree in Business, Computer Science, or Engineering

Work you'll do

This Microstrategy Developer will design and develop enterprise dashboards on an agile, cross-functional team. They will provide advanced analytics capabilities as part of their core business modernization effort. Analytics would include providing users with dynamic reporting capability that allow examiners to efficiently and effectively review pertinent areas of interest. The team member would support the full lifecycle of the analytics effort, from Discovery and Visioning, through development and eventual testing and roll-out.

Qualifications

Required:

+ Active Top Secret security clearance required

+ Bachelor's degree required

+ Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future

+ 2+ years of relevant consulting or industry experience

+ 2 + years experience designing and building MicroStrategy objects, reports, and dashboards.

Preferred:

+ Active Microstrategy Certification

+ Experience with Visual Insight, Data Upload, Distribution Services, and/or Security.

+ Prior professional services or federal consulting experience

+ Knowledge of data mining, machine learning, data visualization and statistical modeling

CNPRC is seeking an experienced Microstrategy developer to lead a new reporting and business intelligence project. We have over 100 legacy Oracle reports to be redeveloped on Microstrategy. Additionally, we will be developing several clinical and financial dashboards. The developer will provide guidance to the development team on how to best leverage the Microstrategy platform to meet the center’s objectives.

CNPRC has the following data sources for this project:

· Oracle 11G database

· PostgreSQL database

· Smile CDR FHIR-based Clinical Data Repository (CDR)

· Data Warehouse with ODHSI OMOP Common Data Model (CDM) on PostgreSQL

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or scientific discipline 5+ years of MicroStrategy Report & Dashboard Development experience 2+ years of MicroStrategy Architect experience Document, Dossier, and Dashboard building in MicroStrategy experience is a MUST Experience designing and executing application objects and schema objects using MicroStrategy desktop Experience with designing semantic graphs and data cubes in MicroStrategy Proficient in pixel-perfect report design Experience in the Health Care domain Experience in the financial sector is a plus

· Demonstrated mastery of MicroStrategy toolset including Architect, Developer, Desktop, Web, Mobile, Office, Command/System Manager, and Object Manager

· Working knowledge of MicroStrategy’s Semantic Graph functionality is a MUST

· Experience developing Data Cubes

Advanced proficiency with SQL, including writing, reading and debugging Strong communication skills with the ability to gather business requirements and create technical solution design documentation is mandatory Experience in multiple Business Intelligence Tools preferred, such as Power BI (2), and Tableau Strong analytical, quantitative and problem-solving skills Self-motivated and able to multi-task, coordinate and prioritize concurrent tasks Ability to present complex information in an understandable and compelling manner Ideal candidate will possess a passion for data discovery and analysis Background in designing and implementing complex and visually compelling reports and dashboards Candidates with documented experience developing Microstrategy reports from FHIR or Smile CDR clinical data repositories will be given preference

· Knowledge of Lucene syntax is helpful
