Job purpose
The BorgWarner Arden campus offers two world class technical centers and a cutting-edge manufacturing facility that designs and produces turbos, fan, and fan drive components for the automotive industry. The Arden campus offers a multitude of career opportunities and is in the beautiful mountains of Western North Carolina.

This position will be responsible for producing quality parts throughout the entire process.

Mine Safety Appliances mold injection operator job description

This position is primarily responsible for color changes and operation of injection molding machines to mold products form thermoplastic materials. Additionally, this position is responsible for inspecting and trimming excess material from parts and performing secondary operations. Adherence to safety, housekeeping and quality standards as related to production and company objectives is required. In addition, this position is responsible for maintaining production goals through productivity targets and cost containment by eliminating waste.

2nd and 3rd shifts offer a shift differential, this differential will also increase in July. Step Increases earned within the first 12 months of employment. 401k + Pension
Responsibilities

Description of Duties and Responsibilities:

* Processes various component parts
* Coordinate work flow and material handling within work cell
* Use process support monitoring equipment
* Operate fork trucks
* Performs color changes and/or startups of injection molding machines
* Perform process control, start-up, process monitoring, press / mold maintenance
* Prepare raw materials including mixing for processing
* Start-up / operate part picker
* Run polycarbonate work cells, which requires additional trimming and notching
* Run lens work cell which has heightened inspection and cutting operations (expensive tooling)
* Visually Inspects, trims excess material and maintains relevant paperwork

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

* Ability to log scrap data, dimensional data and color change timer operations in computer system
* Ability to set-up and start all auxiliary equipment except robot setup.
* Set up and start hot runner controls, thermolators, and pulse cooling
* Ability to check safeties on all press types inspect PM presses, perform basic press operations & perform mold cleaning operation.
* Ability to successfully complete color changes with established time limits.
* Weigh blender. Colorimeter Operation. Plastrac
* Proven ability to read and understand drawings, work instructions and test procedures
* Proven ability to understand standard units of measure and to set-up and interpret results of various measuring devices
* Ability to work in a fast paced repetitive environment
* Ability to infrequently lift, carry, push and pull up to 50 pounds without assistance
* Ability to use power and hand tools, and to operate moderately complex machines.
* Ability to effectively communicate with various levels within the organization including training of new associates and temporary agency assignments
* Ability to work in a team environment and work independently with minimal supervision
* Ability to perform lockout / tag-out
* Ability to obtain fork truck certification
* Ability to operate at a level that meets or exceeds quality and productivity standards for the work area
* Ability to wear safety glasses ANSI Z87 approved, steel toe shoes, and other PPE as required

Education and Experience Required:

Operation of injection molding presses to mould precision rubber parts. Process involves injecting rubber compound into a hot mould cavity where the compound will conform to the shape of the mold cavity after the cure time expires.
Principal Responsibilities:

Feed rubber compound into screw feed.

Operate machine through a series of buttons and switches.

Remove cured rubber from injection cavities.

Remove sleeves from mould cavities.

Remove tare trim from fin and body part of gasket.

Inspect sleeves for tears and trapped air.

Record results

Post cure sleeves in hot oven as necessary.

Assemble boots with specified components.

Pack sleeves in crate and boots in the boxes.

Complete daily production card.

Maintain clean & tidy work area

Perform other duties as required by supervision to meet production requirements.
