Key Responsibilities:

Reads and interprets work orders, drawings/blueprints to determine tooling requirements, setup procedures, control settings, and machining methods and sequences.
Prepares and presets all tools needed for machining operations.
Mounts align and secures tooling, attachments, and the workpiece (s) on the machine.
Calculates and sets machine controls to position the spindle in relationship to the workpiece and to regulate factors such as cutting depth, feed, speed, and coolant flow.
Performs first piece, in-process inspection on work produced, and enters offset adjustments to machine controls to correct out-of-tolerance dimensions.
Discusses part program issues with supervisor or programmer to resolve deficiencies.
Cleans machine (s), tooling, and product produced.
Responsible for the re-sharpening of tooling used on production equipment.
Qualifications for a Machine Operator/Setup I:
High school diploma or the equivalent of 5 or more years of applicable work experience.
1-3 years of CNC experience preferred.
Working knowledge with tight tolerances
Basic understanding of computers.
Ability to read and interpret basic blueprints preferred.
Basic knowledge of inspection tools and ability to perform inspection of parts.

Press Operator - Level 2 performs duties to assist the Cell/Shift Leader in managing the Cell to ensure daily production runs smoothly and efficiently in their assigned area.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
· Monitor press operators to ensure Operator Instructions or OQI's are being followed and notify Shift Leader if an operator appears to require additional training.
· Perform 4 Press Checks per shift. The first Press check is to be completed within 30 minutes of the beginning of the shift. The remaining 3 checks will typically be before breaking the press. Second shift may schedule the remaining 3 breaks evenly over their shift.
· Visually inspect parts to ensure they meet customer requirements and are packaged, and labels are correct and scanned correctly. All containers that have been audited need to be identified with their assigned stamp.
· Ensure scraped parts are being recorded on the Shift Report or on the Communication Cart.
· Ensures assigned area presses have adequate and correct labels.
· Verifies that each scheduled job is correctly set up with the required OQI, packaging, tools and line lay out, components are scanned to the press, and is ready to run production.
· Provide required breaks and lunch for assigned press operators.
· Band and label product correctly as required and move finished goods to staging area and or Warehouse using a pallet jack. Ensure labels are scanned appropriately when goods are transferred to Warehouse.
· Conducts inventory when necessary.
· Keeps production, quality, and scrap records.
· Responsible for quality of parts (consist of a minimum of two shots to the start-up pieces before each press operator's break is given).
· Assist Cell/Shift Leader to ensure all tasks are complete to prepare for mold changes.
· Communicate changes in standard operating procedures during shift to oncoming shift.

The Operator is responsible for operating a given number of plastic blow molding machines (including in-line equipment), and makes necessary adjustments or minor repairs to ensure production of containers is made in a safe, efficient and high quality manner. The primary duties of an Operator include:

GENERAL PURPOSE:
To operate all equipment necessary in a safe and efficient manner to produce product for the customer. To verify product quality and packaging requirements based on instructions provided by the Quality Department and per the Standard Operations Manual. To keep the work area clean and orderly.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO, THE FOLLOWING:
1. Be at the press at the start of your shift prepared with all materials needed to do the job (production sheets, knife, cutters, pen or pencil, safety glasses, etc.).
2. Understand and follow standard operation manuals for each job to correctly produce and package a finished quality product.
3. Follow the instructions of the person in charge of training when learning all jobs.
4. Operate the machine in a safe and timely manner (cycle time) while making sure all parts and runners have fallen or been removed from the mold to prevent damage to the mold.
5. Trim and do all related secondary operations done at the press per operations manual.
6. Accurately complete production report with all necessary information including production numbers, downtime, scrap, etc.
7. Identify each carton with name, date, shift, and record accurate first and last partial quantities.
8. Must know basic knowledge of grinder usage and how to identify material being used so scrap and runner are ground in the correct grinder.
9. Offer suggestion on ways to improve part quality and production rates.
10. Relay all information available to break persons and the on-coming shift (how the press ran, problem areas, packaging requirements, etc.).
11. Will be responsible for cleaning your press and work area (excluding moving parts and heated barrel area on press). Housekeeping is an important part of safety for you and your coworkers. Keeping your work area free of debris such as runners, parts and oil will keep slipping and tripping accidents to a minimum.
12. All work table tops should be free of objects other than tools, fixtures, cartons, etc., that are required for production. All personal items must be kept in lockers.
13. All catch chutes; boxes or scrap bins must be cleaned or emptied at the end of shift.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
This is a physically demanding and safety-sensitive position, which requires employees to stand on their feet for most of an eight- (8) hour shift. To perform the essential functions of this job, employees must be able to meet the following physical requirements.
1. Employees must be able to repeatedly bend, stoop, reach and twist for most of an 8-hour shift in temperatures usually over 75 degrees F.
2. Employees must be able to stand for most or all of the shift working at machine.
3. Frequent and repetitious use of a gate cutter and utility knife is required, which necessitates repetitious gripping, squeezing and similar manipulation of tools.
4. Employees must be able to lift equipment and materials on a frequent and recurring basis up to 35 lbs.
5. Employees must have adequate vision ability to complete with a high degree and accuracy detailed inspection of molded parts to meet strict quality control standards and customer specifications.
Employees must have adequate communication skills to read and understand instructions and safety procedures, to understand and comply with supervisory instructions, and to communicate problems or difficulties.
