National Exchange Bank & Trust company history timeline

1933

20, 1933, at 104 S. Main St Due to expansion and development, the corporate offices of National Exchange Bank are now centered around 130 S. Main St and known as National Exchange Bank & Trust.

1949

The National Exchange Bank was acquired by the Wheeling Dollar Savings & Trust Co., 1315-19 Market Street, on February 28, 1949.

1975

The Trust Department opened in 1975 to better serve the expanded financial needs of the area.

1989

Today, National Exchange Bank & Trust has built an extensive office network, beginning with the addition of the Mount Calvary office in 1989.

1991

The Wheeling Dollar Savings & Trust Co., later Wheeling Dollar Bank, became WesBanco in 1991.

1998

In addition to our physical banking locations, National Exchange Bank & Trust opened a “virtual office” in 1998, continuing its tradition as an industry leader with the introduction of Exchange OnLine, an electronic banking product.

2002

The continuing growth of National Exchange Bank & Trust demanded a unified look throughout all of our communities, so in 2002, National Exchange Bank & Trust underwent a face lift with a complete logo change.

2005

Beaver Dam and Howards Grove became new members of the National Exchange Bank & Trust team in April of 2005.

Montello’s aging facility (the former Montello State Bank) was demolished in early 2005, and banking services were moved to a newly constructed facility adjacent to the former location.

2007

National Exchange Bank & Trust entered new territory in the industry with its first venture into a grocery store facility in October 2007.

2019

NBW Bank, which was purchased by the holding company NEB Corp. in October 2019, was converted to National Exchange Bank & Trust in January, nicely filling a geographical void in the office network with offices in Waupun, Rosendale, Brandon and Fairwater.
