Individuals assigned to the Machine Shop shall be able to use blueprints, drawings, sketches, or computer-aided design (CAD) and manufacturing files to program by using computer software such as Mastercam CAD/CAM, SolidWorks, and/or Fusion 360 for the Computerized Numerical Control machines and operate CNC machines to produce precision metal or plastic parts. Mold Maker III will work with minimum supervision on new construction of Plastic Injection, Pultrusion, Compression and Rotational Molds, as well as Modifications and Repairs of the same. The Mold Maker will be expected to work with Senior Mold Makers as a support, Junior Mold Makers as a lead or independently as workload requires. The Mold Maker will also be expected to continue to improve their skill level and technical knowledge through interaction with coworkers and training opportunities as they are presented. Essential Functions of the Job: Set up and operate CNC machines (lathe/mill) in order to meet daily production and quality requirements. Follow company quality control standards to include in-process inspection and documentation. Must model safe behaviors. Education: High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required. Experience: Must have at least five years of current CNC lathe setup experience. Formal CNC training experience preferred. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Ability to interpret blueprints, setup machines, edit offsets within programs, and perform tool offset adjustments as required to machine specialty bearings. Ability to perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on machines. Skilled to perform inspections of dimensions machined, including threads, inner diameters, outer diameters, lengths, widths, and undercuts/grooves. Skilled to inspect finished parts using precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, etc.). Ability to read and interpret engineering prints. Ability to make decisions, communicate effectively, and work well with others in a team environment. Must be a quick learner. Ability to give, receive, and follow written and verbal instructions in English and communicate job related information to others.
