A DAY IN THE LIFE AS A 5 AXIS CNC MACHINIST
This position requires the incumbent to be flexible and adaptable to the changes that rapidly affect this position. Have good time management skills. Possess excellent interpersonal skills and ability to relate effectively with all members of the team from various experience levels. Solid knowledge of machine capabilities and manufacturing processes. Exceptional ability to read, understand, and interpret production profiles needed. Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively relate with team members and the management. Must be safety conscious.
The employee is regularly required to stand, use hands to handle or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to walk, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee is occasionally required to sit and talk or hear. The employee must regularly lift and or move up to 20 lbs. and frequently lift and or move up to 50 lbs. * Plans machining by studying work orders, materials and specifications and machining parameters.
* Settings tool registers, offsets, compensation, and conditional switches; calculating requirements, including basic math, geometry and trigonometry; proving part programs.
* Setting up machines including the CNC to run moldings.
* Creates CAD files for approvals and programming the CNC machine .
* Maintains clean and safe work area including daily and regular cleaning of machinery in compliance with procedures, rules, and regulations.
* Regular and dependable attendance is an essential function of this job.
* Complete all assigned tasks in a timely and efficient manner.
* Must have 1 - years prior experience operating 3 axis or 5 axis machines (or both)
