PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Diagnose operating problems on all varieties of regular and complicated machines and equipment. Use voltage meters, ohm meters, phase rotation tester, micrometers, torque wrenches, gauge blocks, precision squares, oscilloscope and laser equipment as necessary for diagnostic and repair/alignment purposes.
Work from drawings, specifications and schematics. Perform skilled fitting of bearings and spindles and align machine components. May be required to scrape ways. Lay out and machine complicated replacement parts requiring involved machine setups and operations.
Perform a wide variety of electrical installation and maintenance work on plant electrical systems, equipment and apparatus. Lay out and install complex wiring circuits and distribution centers in accordance with codes. Diagnose and repair problems with a wide variety of electronic controls requiring knowledge of relay logic, digital logic, ladder drawings and diagrams.
Contact outside vendors or service technicians as needed to obtain information regarding problems with machines or controls
Perform necessary millwright duties to install and wire new equipment or to remove old equipment.
Assist Maintenance Mechanical/Electrical B's as necessary to diagnose the more complicated problems and to decide on remedies. Operate fork lift as required to perform duties. May be required to come in during normal off hours to effect emergency repairs.
Follow all lock out/tag out rules and procedures. Maintain area in a clean and orderly manner. Carry out department policies and procedures.

EDUCATION
Requires a thorough knowledge of mechanical and electrical maintenance duties, knowledge and ability to set up and operate machine tools to produce repair parts and a thorough knowledge of plant equipment, hydraulic and pneumatic circuitry and electronic controls as would generally be acquired in a full apprenticeship training plus four to five years of maintenance experience.
SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

What You'll Do
Set up CNC machines quickly, accurately, and efficiently
Program, edit, and troubleshoot using G & M code
Collaborate with engineering and CAM teams to improve CNC programs
Design and assist in creating custom fixturing for complex parts
Run production parts while maintaining tight quality standards
Suggest technical improvements to boost production efficiency
Monitor performance issues and provide solutions
What We're Looking For
Required:
High school diploma or GED (post-secondary CNC training preferred)
8+ years CNC machining experience
Fluency in G & M code and ability to edit programs
Strong blueprint reading skills
Problem-solving mindset with high attention to detail
Positive attitude in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment
Willingness to learn and collaborate with engineering/programming teams
Preferred:
Metal fabrication background
CAD/CAM experience
Familiarity with Haas controls

What You'll Bring to the Table:
Proficiency in operating 5 Axis Machining Centers - required
Strong programming skills - required
Ability to read and interpret part prints and technical drawings
Proficient in calculating dimensions and tolerances using mathematical skills and precision measuring tools such as micrometers and calipers
Capable of machining precision parts from start to finish
A Day in the Life:
Set up, program, and operate 5-Axis Machining Centers
Review part specification and requirements.
Setup work piece, create machining center sequence and tool selection.
Produce parts within required tolerances and specifications.
Inspect and validate your own work using precision measuring equipment
Complete short-run jobs with frequent changeovers and tool adjustments
Keep work areas clean, safe, and organized

Tool Mold Maker
Numerical control operator job in Milwaukee, WI
What You Will Do: The Toolmaker/Moldmaker is responsible for working with the lead mold maker to build new tooling per CAD or detailed prints, evaluate, maintain, and repair existing molds and production tooling. Must be able to build new tooling and components with minimum supervision
Identify and communicate any possible tooling problems to the lead mold maker or supervisor
Must be able to work well with lead mold makers and train mold maintenance technicians and apprentices
Must be able to operate all tool room equipment
Must be able to perform mold maintenance and in-press mold changes
Must be willing to work overtime based on production needs
Other Functions
Work with QA to identify quality concerns
Maintain a clean and safe work area
Performs other tasks as assigned
Required Personal Protective Equipment: safety shoes are to be worn at all times during your scheduled work hours.
What You Bring (Qualifications):
3+ years of plastic injection molding building experience or successful completion of an apprenticeship program.
Journeyman Tool & Die Maker certification/degree is preferred.
High School diploma or equivalent required
Knowledgeable in current mold-building techniques. This individual should have solid manufacturing concepts in plastic injection mold building
Ability to read, interpret, and analyze engineering designs and computer-based CAD plans and models.
Must possess good written and verbal communication skills
Must have good problem-solving skills and be detail-oriented
Ability to lift/push/pull up to 50 lbs.
Must have own precision tools
Prior forklift experience preferred
