Perform a wide variety of duties to diagnose, repair and calibrate machines and equipment to include all mechanical, electrical and electronic components and controls PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES Diagnose operating problems on all varieties of regular and complicated machines and equipment. Full-time Description The CNC Horizontal Mill Machinist II is responsible for the machining of products in order to meet customer specifications. Operation of the machining centers and medium to complex setups would be done by selecting and installing tooling, updating fixturing, and pulling CNC machining programs. Must have a working knowledge of computers. Must be able to take verbal and written instructions and work from handmade sketches. Demonstrated knowledge of G-Code programming and machine practices. Demonstrated effective verbal, written, and communication skills. PHYSICAL DEMANDS WHILE PERFORMING THE JOB: Visual acuity: near acuity and accommodation are required for reading machine dial gauges, blueprints, and precision measuring instruments used in the inspection of parts Hearing ability: ability to monitor machine sounds to identify and diagnose changes in order to take appropriate action Frequently required to stand, walk, push, reach overhead, and bend to the floor Frequently required to sit and use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds WORKING ENVIRONMENT OF THE JOB: Must be able to lift and lower 30-50lbs.
