Setting the grinding equipment, installing special grinding wheels or attachments, adjusting and setting tooling on tool posts, installing live-centers, chucks centers, extensions, dogs, etc.
Aligning the rollers in the equipment to meet all dimensional requirements of job order. This includes adjustment for taper, TIR, roller surface finish, and finish dimensions.
Measure all required dimensions and understand the relationship of the dimensions to the specific requirements of the job.
Utilize all inspection and measurement equipment per procedure and instruction, including durometer gauges, pi-tapes, P&J gauges, micrometers, vernier diameter tapes, dial indicators, profilometers, temperature-indicating devices, and others as needed.
Complete the grinding operation and inspect the finished product to ensure that all requirements are met.
Complete all necessary paperwork, inspection reports, job router information, and operator sign-off on job.
Clean all metal and rubber surfaces prior to protective wrapping.
Unload the grinding equipment safely and without damage or harm to personnel, equipment or finished product.
Deliver the finished product to a designated storage area or shipping container.
Safely operate the grinding equipment to produce the desired results and meet the specific job requirement.

The Machinist II will:
* Plan, layout, machine and assemble to precision tolerances parts and tools designed to meet exacting standards and specifications consisting of mechanical or specialty apparatus.
* Set and operate a variety of machining equipment such as engine and bench lathes, vertical and horizontal milling machines, job borers, grinders, hones, gear cutters, and drill presses, to fully utilize all functions of the machines.
* Plan and determine the sequence of machining operations, number of cuts required to obtain required finishes and tolerances, determine cutting tools to be used and method of holding and aligning work.
* Make complete layout on parts involving compound angles and exacting mating part work, to check for sufficient stock and for reference during machining.
* Set up machines to completely and independently perform any operations within their capacity. Select mount and align various specialized machine attachments and standard or improvised tooling. Determine, set, and adjust machine speeds, feeds and depth of cut. Select, mount, and fasten cutting tools for specified finish and best performance consistent with the type of material being machined.
* Check own machine set up and parts run for conformance to blueprint specifications. Grind own tool bits and drills.
* Work from detailed drawings, templates, sketches, assembly blueprints, or oral instructions
* Offers technical direction to customers on pre-fabrication reviews, modifications, or repairs.
* Operate the machines to perform such typical operations as chasing all types of single and multiple external tapers; turning, boring, reaming, facing, slotting, etc., for any type of machine fit; machining parts involving compound angles or concentric and coordinated concave or convex surfaces to exacting tolerances.
* Ability to program and operate in at least one CNC language.
* Train less experienced machinists; general inspection of work.

Requisition Qualifications:

* Develop CNC/Lathe programs to control machining or processing of metal or plastic parts by automatic machine tools, equipment, or systems, experience in .stp files, CREO, and/or MasterCam, Mazatrol interpreting project blueprints, designing programs and setting up machines to produce the component outlined in the program
* Proficiency in the programming of CNC Mills and Lathes with CAD CAM is a plus; ProE, GibbsCAM, or Conversational CNC with multi axis programming.

About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled Lathe Machinist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with manual lathes and mills, a strong understanding of machining tools and techniques, and the ability to interpret technical blueprints. This role requires a detailed-oriented Lathe Machinist with 2+ years experience operating and setting up manual and CNC lathes, proficient in blueprint reading and achieving
Pay Rate: $20-23/hour (DOE)

Key Responsibilities:
Setup, operate, and maintain manual lathes and mills.
Apply knowledge of machining tools (Micrometers, Calipers, Dial Indicators, Bore Gauges, Thread Gauges.) as well as feeds and speeds to maximize efficiency and tool life.
Load raw materials (Titanium, Inconel, Stainless Steel, Aluminum, A286), select appropriate cutting tools, and se machine parameters like speed and feed rates.
Software knowledge (CAD/CAM (AutoCAD, Solidworks), ERP Systems
Cut, drill, bore, and turn materials to create parts according to blueprints and specifications.
Machine parts to dimensions and tolerances as specified on blueprints.
Inspect finished parts to ensure they meet quality and precision standards, making necessary adjustments to the machine or the parts themselves.
Detect and report defective material or questionable conditions to supervision.
Maintain work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition.
Follow and enforce all safety regulations and company procedures.
Key Requirements:
Ability to read and use a tape measure and other measuring tools such as calipers and micrometers.
Strong ability to read and interpret blueprint drawings.
Proficiency in operating lathe machines and using various cutting tools.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Strong attention to detail.
Strong analytical and mathematical skills for interpreting drawings and specifications.
Good problem solving and troubleshooting abilities.
Ability to safely operate and use an overhead crane.
Physical ability to handle materials and operate machinery.
Familiarity with computers and Windows-based programs is a plus.
Must follow and enforce strict safety regulations, including proper use of PPE (safety glasses, mask, steel toe shoes).
Team-oriented with strong communication and collaboration skills.

The Computer NumericalControl (CNC) Machinist, located in a climate-controlled facility in Orange, TX, is committed to supporting Cloeren Incorporated continue to be the leader in extrusion die and feedblock quality and technology by operating CNC machines in a safe and productive manner, skilled precision and bench work in the fabrication, maintenance, repair and alteration of machinery, machine parts, tools, and equipment.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
Read and interpret blueprints.
Use gauge and measuring instruments to meet tolerance requirements.
Use precision tools, machinery, and equipment such as lathe, vertical milling machine, drill press, hydraulic press, chop saw, band saw, push and pull broaches and a variety of cutting tools and equipment.
Fabricates and shapes parts such as tools and machine parts out of metal, plastics, and composites.
Properly and safely selects, aligns, secures, and removes holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials onto machines.
Recognizes, deploys, and properly uses inserts, fixtures, and tooling.
Performs daily and regular cleaning and light maintenance tasks on machinery and equipment.
Ability to track parts and jobs in ERP system.
Complies with all quality policies, specifications, regulations, and instructions.
Operate the overhead cranes and forklift effectively and safely.
Performing all other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements
At a minimum, the CNC Machinist must have a high school diploma, or equivalent, along with 2-3 years of proven experience as a Class 1 Machinist or CNC Operator and proven ability to read prints. Associates degree in machining or related field of study, or trade school graduate along with prior Class 1 Machinist or CNC Operator is highly preferred.
