Reporting to the Production Supervisor, they will perform but not be limited to the following responsibilities. Responsibilities: Reviews work orders, blueprints, engineering plans, materials, specifications, reference planes, locations of surfaces, and machining parameters; interpreting geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T). Sets-up conventional CNC mills and lathes by installing and adjusting three- and four-jaw chucks, tools, attachments, collets, bushings, cams, gears, stops, and stock pushers; indicating vices; trimming heads. Maintains specifications by observing drilling, grooving, and cutting, including turning, facing, knurling and thread chasing operations; taking measurements; detecting malfunctions; troubleshooting processes; adjusting and reprogramming controls; sharpening and replacing worn tools; adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes. Verifies settings by measuring positions, first-run part, and sample work pieces; adhering to standards. Using machine controls, retrieves programs from the network. Changes cutting tools and location of work piece during machining process as specified in setup instructions. Measures work piece for conformance to specifications. Notifies supervisor of discrepancies. Check cutter size and wear. Also add edits to accommodate actual cutter diameter to prevent parts not meeting tolerances. Performs all work in accordance with TGC Procedures, Safety and ISO Standards. Provides support to all CNC operators and programmers Recommend and implement best CNC/Machining practices Other duties as assigned. EDUCATION: High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED) preferred. EXPERIENCE: 3-5 years of recent working experience in CNC Lathe. Completion of a 2 year technical/trade school in machining (preferred). KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES: Must be able to read engineering blueprints and planning. A positive attitude, excellent communication skills, strong multitasking ability, and an interest in learning new skills/technologies required. MUST be well organized, works well with others and flexible. Broad skill set who is not afraid to tackle multiple tasks. Knowledge of tooling speeds and feeds offsets and minor program changes. Ability to prove out programs. Setup, program, and operate two CNC Lathes (Okuma). Perform tool adjustment as required. Work with Engineering to make tooling. Able to use inspections tool to inspect parts. Job DescriptionDescription:Temp-to-hire The Mill Machinist is responsible for the set up and operation of CNC Mills to perform machining operations, such as turning, boring, threading and facing, on metallic or nonmetallic work pieces according to specifications for the aerospace and other industries.Duties and Responsibilities: Operate Set up Mori Seiki and/or HAAS Mills with Fanuc and HAAS controls. Make changes to offsets and change/touch off tools. Ability to read and explain Blueprints, Engineering Changes, and Manufacturing Instructions. Mathematics skills: Geometry, Algebra and Trigonometry. Comprehensive understanding of mechanical components, tooling and fixtures. Use of all measuring instruments including Dial Bore Gauge, Micrometer and Comparator. Comprehensive understanding of tool geometries, materials, and coatings. Must be knowledgeable in tooling selection and speeds / feeds. Problem solving skills. Accurately complete all required documents (Router, Production Inspection Report, Programs, etc.). Maintain a safe, clean and orderly work area. Must be able to be able to listen carefully to verbal and written instructions. Must be able to load material in and out of the machines. Must keep machine properly maintained. Any other duties as required. Physical Requirements: Ability to squat and kneel on an occasional basis.
