Position Overview : The Machine Shop Technician I work under the guidance and supervision of the Machining Supervisor to support day-to-day machine shop operations. Roush Yates Manufacturing Solutions is a precision CNC parts manufacturing organization with expertise in multi-axis machining of metal parts with complex geometries. We produce machined parts for the automotive, aerospace, military and industrial industries.

Setup of 5-axis CNC mills.
Adjust or operate machine tools used to perform precision machining operations.
Align and secure holding fixture, cutting tools, attachments, accessories or materials onto machines.
Complete accurate and timely system transactions.
Manufacture parts with tolerance and specifications.
Measure, examine, or test completed units to check for defects and ensure conformance to specifications, using precision instruments.
Monitor the feed and speed of machines during the machining process.
Maintain machine tools in proper operational condition.
Study sample parts, blueprints, drawings, or engineering information to determine methods or sequences of operations needed to fabricate products.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
3-5+ Years of experience in CNC machining.
Experience setting up and operating 5-axis CNC machines.
Ability to use measuring tools; Micrometers, Calipers, and Bore Gauges.
Manufacture parts within tolerance and specifications.
Understand Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance AMSE Y14.5.
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required.
Must perform all duties in conjunction with quality system requirements.
In depth understanding of manual & CNC equipment capability, part processing, and machining.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. There will be long periods of standing. Must follow company established safety procedures and meet minimum vision standards, corrected or uncorrected, as follows: Snellen 14/18, 20/25 or better, Jaeger Type 2 at 14 inches, or Ortho-Rated 8. For ITAR compliance, all employees at this location must be a US citizen or a lawful permanent resident.

Our top candidates will have exceptional critical thinking, time management and communication skills, an ability to handle complex machines and tools, and a willingness to lead by example.
Position Expectations:
G & M code fluency and ability to edit program
High level of blueprint reading required
Proficiency with conversational controls is a plus
Strong verbal communication and problem-solving skills
Attention to detail and ability to deal with complexity
Capable of working in a customer-focused, deadline-driven environment while maintaining a positive attitude
Interested in learning with, and from, engineering, and programming team to improve operations
Working to machine dimensions and maintain close tolerances and correlated dimensions
