Ensuring players are released at the appropriate times from the penalty box. Assisting the Referees with determining the on-ice strength when multiple penalties are assessed. Managing the penalty box area in conjunction with the Penalty Timekeeper. Releasing players at the appropriate time at the expiration of their penalties. Replacing game pucks when they leave the ice surface and/or at other times per league guidelines. Maintaining a backup stop watch for the game clock. Communicating with the broadcasters, the On-Ice Officials and fellow Off-Ice Officials when commercial time-outs are upcoming and when they are about to be completed. Illuminating the red light when the Referee signals that a goal has been scored. Making the official decision on all goals, including the goal scorer and those worthy of receiving an assist. Reporting this information to Off-Ice Official responsible for entering information into the scoring system and to the Public Address Announcer. Reviewing all scoring plays on video to ensure accuracy. Accurately interpreting the events of the game and recording them in the League scoring system. Making instantaneous decisions on hits, shots, missed shots, blocked shots, giveaways, takeaways, goals and assists, penalties and other pertinent game events. Verbalizing events so that nothing is missed by those entering them into the scoring system computers. Reviewing events on video to verify decisions or to make changes for accuracy. Reviewing all close plays at the net and communicating effectively with the technician, the On-Ice Officials and the AHL Situation Room to accurately determine the legitimacy of all goals and potential goals. If a guest becomes confrontational, belligerent, or uses extreme profanity, the bartender may contact management or security as required. Contact a management member if unable to resolve or make a decision beyond the scope of standard decision-making. Request additional product or restock product as required in a timely manner prior to running out. Maintain clean and sanitary work station at all times, following all health code regulations, and ensure that the bar equipment is clean and well maintained. Qualifications * High School Diploma or equivalent * Significant knowledge of hockey, preferably as an On-Ice or Off-Ice Official, as a player or as a coach, either at the Professional, Major Junior, College or Minor Professional level. * Excellent understanding of the playing rules, bylaws and scoring pertinent to the AHL, including current understanding of AHL scoring and statistics. * Strong computer skills, including but not limited to MS WORD, EXCEL. * Ability to read, interpret and understand AHL playing rules, bulletins, policies and procedures as distributed by the AHL. * Able to operate video review equipment, communication equipment and other technology introduced by the league to effectively officiate the game. * Able to work effectively within a high pressure, time sensitive environment with extreme focus and concentration. * Strong organizational and time management skills. * Strong communication skills, both written and verbally able to work effectively in a team environment. * Able to demonstrate a calm demeanor, discretion and professionalism in potentially emotional situations. * Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays when required. * Must be available to work all home games (pre-season, regular and post-season). Previous experience in a customer service-based industry is preferred. Previous experience within a sports, entertainment, or related field is preferred. Must be able to work a flexible schedule including weekends, nights and holidays required. Must be able to work in all weather conditions with proper gear including heat, cold, rain, snow. Position Summary We are seeking energetic and outgoing individuals to join the OVG team as a Concession Hawker at Mirabito Stadium. As a Hawker, you will be responsible for selling alcohol, soda, chips, hotdogs to fans in the stands during events. This is a physically demanding role as you will be lifting heavy items (25-40 lbs) and walking up and down the stadium stairs for long periods of time. Responsibilities Transporting food & beverage items from the concession stand to the seating area Lifting heavy items (30 lbs) and carrying them in a tub around your neck Walking up and down the stadium stairs to reach customers in the stands Selling food and beverage items to fans in the stands Keeping the tub organized and clean Staying knowledgeable about all products and menu items Taking payment from customers and making change as needed Selling alcohol in accordance with state laws and venue guidelines Qualifications Must be 18 years or older to sell alcohol.
