This role focuses on homework assistance, foundational skill-building, and literacy intervention, while also leading occasional enrichment activities. The Academic Mentor creates a structured, engaging environment that supports academic success and social-emotional growth. This position reports to the site-specific Program Manager.
Specific Duties & Responsibilities
Lead two daily academic sessions focused on homework support and skill-building
Facilitate one weekly enrichment activity that is creative, engaging, and age-appropriate
Implement literacy intervention curriculum twice a week during the academic session
Submit weekly academic lesson plans aligned with student needs and program goals
Maintain a consistent classroom environment with clear routines and community agreements
