RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES: Directs patient care and provides training and consultation to Occupational Therapists and COTAs. Educates service providers in documentation best practices. Complies with procedures, laws, and regulations set by the state, school contracts, and municipalities. Promotes quality services, ensuring comprehensiveness and appropriateness. Directs supervision of COTAs, including: Complying with New York State (NYS) regulations for practice and supervision for COTAs in NYS. Conducting reviews of paperwork requirements including log notes. Ensuring compliance with district requirements in accordance with NYS laws and regulations. Conducting reviews of caseloads for clinical quality. Monitors progress of goals and data collection. Provides quality assurance supervision of occupational therapy programming provided by contracted OTs. Conducts site visits of therapists in the field and reviews of paperwork and session notes. Performs other related duties as required. Qualifications: They must have a Bachelor's degree in an occupational therapy curriculum accredited by ACOTE standards. They must have initial registration from the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy. The Occupational Therapy Administrator must hold a valid and unencumbered occupational therapy license as required in the state of practice.
