Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) Responsibilities:
Function as a scrub person during operative and other invasive procedures.
Clean and prepare surgical instruments for processing and transport them to the decontamination areas.
Assist with post procedure cleaning of the operativeor other invasive procedure room and preparation of room for subsequent patients.
Perform all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) Requirements:
High School Graduate or equivalent.
Graduate of a recognized and accredited Surgical Technologist Program.
Prior Experience as a Surgical Technologist preferred.
Current Surgical Technologist certification preferred.
Successful completion of BLS Course within 90 days of employment or documentation of current BLS certification.

The Medical Support Specialist will be familiar with regulations of the plasma collection industry or a manufacturing environment. The Medical Support Specialist follows guidance provided by BioLife Medical Affairs and provides center level support of environmental, health and safety (EHS).
How you will contribute
* You will determine donor eligibility; to include, proper management of informed consent, AIDS education and confidential self-exclusion, medical history interview and acceptance requirements, physical examination, blood testing, and reviewing Serological Protein Electrophoresis (SPE).
* You will evaluate donor reaction(s), which occurs at the facility as outlined in the SOPs. Follow applicable SOPs for medical emergencies including the development of Center Physician's standing orders and donor transport to emergency care facilities.
* You will refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs (as applicable) when in need of providing unacceptable findings to donors, or guidance concerning medical or technical issues, including donor safety and eligibility.
* You will support the Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees as applicable.
* You will manage employee incidents and determine whether further evaluation is required by occupational health/ER. Refer to EHS guidance regarding employee incidents.
* You can be a Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and support investigations associated with pandemic threats within the local community as indicated by EHS or Medical Affairs.
What you bring to Takeda:
* High school diploma or equivalent to including graduate equivalent of a recognized educational nursing program with state requirements
* Currently licensed or certified in the state where responsibilities will be assigned: EMT-Paramedic
* Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and AED certification
* Fulfill state requirements (in state of licensure) for basic IV therapy
* Satisfactorily complete the FDA approved training requirements for BioLife Medical Support Specialist

Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Collaborate with Surgery Center Director/Administrator for surgery scheduling and patient care with clinic staff to ensure seamless continuum of care for patients.
Prepare patients for and assist with laser eye surgery.
Report to designation as assigned for all laser cases, assisting with surgery and other medical procedures.
In consultation with treating laser surgeons, conduct pre-treatment dilation, pre-laser education and setting the laser controls per the surgeon preferences. Perform post-laser discharge instructions and intraocular pressure testing as needed.
Ensure that supplies are ready for use; inventory and restock supplies as needed.

Serve as a patient advocate by ensuring the patient's comfort and safety during surgery; observe the patient's condition; provide accurate, timely and effective communication regarding the patient's condition to ASC Administrator, Charge RN, ophthalmologists, surgical staff, anesthesiologist/anesthetist, and administrative staff as appropriate.
Responsible for interfacing with laser manufacturer field engineering service team to maintain laser; operation, inventory, and management of medical supplies as needed for treatment planning.
Accurately collect all pertinent laser data and record in EHR.
Assist patients between preoperative, laser suite through discharge.
Attend in-service programs as required.
Ensure compliance with required laser safety programs and maintenance as needed on the laser.
Ensure a safe and healthy environment for all patients and staff; protect all patients by identifying safety hazards such as electrical and equipment.
Protect confidential patient information and use good judgment in sharing patient information in a manner that is consistent with patient care and current laws and regulations, including HIPAA.
Adhere to all safety standards as established by OSHA, and apply all required safety precautions, including personal protective equipment (PPE).
Perform work in compliance with company policy, department procedures and regulatory requirements, including State and Federal laws and regulations.
