Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced, highly organized, and dynamic OR Nurse Manager to lead and manage our surgical nursing team in a fast-paced, high-end plastic surgery environment. This individual will oversee day-to-day operations of the operating room, recovery (PACU), and pre-operative processes. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, clinical expertise, and experience with Quad A (AAAASF) accreditation and compliance standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Management
· Oversee all clinical operations in the OR, Pre-Op, PACU, and Recovery areas
· Manage surgical scheduling and staff assignments in coordination with surgeons and administration including daily schedule or nurses, scrub techs, and PRNs
· Ensure patient safety and comfort from admission through discharge with an excellent and caring patient experience
· Lead Quad A accreditation preparation, compliance, and continuous quality improvement efforts including submission of cases
· Supervise, mentor, and evaluate nursing and clinical staff, promoting professional development and accountability
· Oversee the credentialing and on-boarding of external and internal surgeons, residents, and visitors into the surgery center
· Manage surgical supply expenditures, identify cost-saving opportunities, and maintain adequate inventory levels.
· Handle other urgent issues as they arise e.g. coordinating maintenance on machines, staffing issues, etc.
OR & Patient Care
· Act as a liaison between surgical staff, patients, anesthesia providers, and administrative team
· Daily participation in surgical cases as needed, including pre-op admission, intra-op support, and post-op recovery
· Maintain proper documentation, incident reporting, and uphold regulatory standards
· Oversee inventory and ordering of surgical supplies and equipment for patients with our Materials Manager
· Implement and maintain protocols and best practices for infection control, medication safety, and emergency response
· Review, update, and maintain protocols as needed for patient care and staffing
Qualifications:
· Current RN license in CA (required)
· BLS and ACLS certifications (required)
· 3-5 years of clinical experience in a plastic surgery center, emergency department, or ICU setting
· Prior leadership or nurse management experience strongly preferred
· Deep understanding of surgical nursing workflows and perioperative care
· Familiarity with Quad A (AAAASF) accreditation standards and compliance
· Strong organizational and communication skills
· High emotional intelligence and a team-oriented mindset
Education And Qualifications
· Graduation from an accredited nursing program with a BSN degree or equivalent experience.
· Current state RN licensure and certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
· Demonstrated expertise in QUAD-A standards with a strong track record of supporting successful accreditation and compliance initiatives
· Demonstrated people manager in a healthcare setting

We're looking for Operating Room RNs for an immediate travel nurse opening in San Jose, CA. The right RN should have 1-2 years recent acute care experience as a circulating nurse, and/or scrub nurse, and potentially RN first assistant. Read below for more requirements.
As an OR Travel Nurse, you will assist physicians and medical staff in caring for surgical patients, as well as providing pre- and post-surgery care and education to the patient. Circulating OR Nurses work within the operating suite but outside of the sterile field; Scrub OR Nurses handle and prepare operating instruments and equipment within the sterile field. Surgery responsibilities may include preparing instruments for specific surgical procedures, monitoring and observing the patient during surgery, and responding to potential complications alongside the physician.
As an OR Travel Nurse, you should be prepared to perform the following tasks:
Provide basic bedside care.
Prepare, administer and record prescribed medication, reporting any adverse reactions to treatment.
Serve as the communication liaison between patients' family members and members of the operating team.
Ensure that the correct procedure(s) is being performed on the correct patient.
Initiate patient education plan as prescribed by physician; teach patients and families how to manage medication and home care needs.
Additional duties for Circulating OR Nurses may include:
Responding to comfort and safety needs of patient.
Accurate care and handling of specimens.
Monitoring equipment used during surgery.
Inventory of surgical items pre- and post-procedure.

OR Travel Nurses should be able to stand and walk for long periods of time, as well as bend, lean and stoop without difficulty. RNs should be able to easily lift 20 pounds. Moving or lifting of patients may require lifting of up to 50 pounds at times. RNs may face hazards from exposure to certain chemicals or infectious diseases in the operating room environment.

How You Will Make an Impact: The Surgical Scrub Techs collaborates closely with surgeons, nurses, anesthesiologists, and other members of the surgical team. They play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and success of surgical procedures by maintaining a sterile environment and providing essential support to the surgical team.
What You Will Do: The Surgical Scrub Tech is responsible for the instruments, supplies, and equipment necessary during a surgical procedure. Understand the procedure being performed, anticipate the needs of the surgeon, ensure quality patient care during the operation, and remain constantly vigil for maintenance of the sterile field. The Surgical Scrub Tech reports to the Nurse Manager.
Maintain/check supplies and equipment needed for surgical procedure(s); alert nurse manager if consumable surgery items are required.
Prepare the surgical table, blocks, and mayo stand with instruments, supplies, equipment, medications, and solutions required for each procedure.
Perform appropriate counts with circulator prior to the operation and before incision is closed.
Perform thorough prep of surgical site(s) and drapes the sterile field.
Maintain the highest standard of sterile technique during procedure, provide instruments to the surgeon during procedure, and prepare sterile dressing(s).
Prepare instruments for terminal sterilization and performs weekly terminal cleaning of operating room.
Assist with patient check-in, surgery scheduling, post-op follow-up, phone triage, turn-over cleaning/room preparation, patient transfer(s) (to and from OR) and obtaining vital signs.
Prepare sterile embryo transfer trays and provide patient support during oocyte retrieval and embryo transfers.
Sterilization of surgical instruments and maintains infection control policies.
Other duties as assigned.

Assists surgeons with instruments and putting on gowns and gloves; leaves operating room to get supplies or equipment that is being requested by a surgeon, registered nurses or anesthesiologist; assists registered nurses with sponge and needle counts as well as the other technical aspects, although the RN's are legally accountable; gathers up contaminated instruments and places them for decontamination and sterile processing; mixes irrigation fluids; and assists surgeons, registered nurses, and Anestheologists in an assigned duties.
3. Acts as a scrub technician for surgical procedures and checks aseptic technique of surgery personnel; assists with in-service training for new personnel in scrub and sterile techniques; assists in demonstrating new equipment; performs maintenance on equipment; sees that preventative maintenance and other necessary repairs are ordered and done on all equipment in the department.
4. On occasion may perform housekeeping duties in the surgical areas when there are no housekeeping personnel on duty; may take messages at times for medical staff.

This is a PRN, EMT position. Shifts are 8-hours, 1 to 2 days per week, weekends included, and are overtime eligible.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE EMT:
· Accurately obtain and document vital signs including temperature, pulse, respirations and blood pressure.
