Responsibilities
Work Schedule:
Services shall be provided Monday - Friday, between the hours of 6:00am and 6:00pm. All shifts include an uncompensated 30-to-60-minute meal break, respectively.
Job Specific Responsibilities and Tasks: Duties may include but are not limited to:
Core Duties:
• Perform the full spectrum of sterile techniques, setting up surgical trays, preparing and draping patients for surgery, and assisting with post-operative dressings.
• Ensure surgical packs are cleaned and packed for sterilization after every procedure, to include restocking surgical supplies.
• Maintain a clean, safe environment for the patient either by active participation in the cleaning of clinical spaces, operatingrooms, and medical equipment, or by guiding other personnel in the environmental maintenance.
Additional Duties:
• Perform a full range of surgical/operatingroomtechnician services to include performance as a scrub technician; pass instruments to surgeon and/or surgical assistants; assist circulating nurse to prepare patients for surgery and assists in preparation of patient's operative site; assist the anesthesiologist; adjust lights and other equipment as directed; verify proper identification of patients and scheduled surgical procedure; review to ensure appropriate consent forms are complete; assist in positioning patient in prescribed position for surgery; and assist as directed in moving patient to and from the surgery site.
• Count (with the circulating nurse) sponges, needles and instruments used during surgery and assist in clean-up of operatingroom using standard MTF policies.
• Prepare operative specimens as directed, label and deliver them to the laboratory and move equipment to and from operatingrooms as necessary for scheduled procedures.
• Provide pick-up and delivery service for such items as blood gasses, supplies, specimens, and materials to support OperatingRoom needs.
• Conduct inventory; determine need; orders, obtains, receives, and stores surgical supplies; and inspect and monitor stocking of Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) crash cart.
• Respond to CPR situations, acute respiratory problems and other emergencies as needed.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
• Degree: Certificate
• Education:Graduate from Surgical Technology program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES) or completion of a formal training program provided by any branch of the U.S. Armed Forces (Army, Navy, Air Force) for surgical technicians, surgical technologists or operatingroomtechnicians.
• Certification: Certified as a Surgical Technologist (CST) from The National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) or certified as a Tech-in-Surgery (TS-C) from the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) or possess a Military Occupational Specialty (MOS) certification as a surgical technician and/or operatingroomtechnician.

Job DescriptionPosition Type: Per diem Reports To: Clinical Director About Us: We are an ambulatory surgery center specializing in pain management in Oceanside, CA. We focus on high-quality, patient-centered care in a friendly, collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist the surgical team by functioning as the scrub-tech during operative and invasive procedures.
Maintain the sterile field and ensure all instrumentation and supplies are appropriately prepared, placed, and handled.
Prepare, inspect and sterilize surgical instruments and trays; ensure equipment readiness for each procedure.
Assist in room setup and turnover between cases.
Support circulating nurse and other team members in ensuring efficient workflow and patient safety.
Comply with all policies and procedures, including aseptic technique and infection control standards.
Communicate effectively with physicians, nurses, staff, and patients as needed.
Required Qualifications:
Completion of an accredited Surgical Technician program
Certification preferred (e.g., CST Certified Surgical Technologist) or willingness to obtain.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (or obtain within a specified timeframe).
Strong understanding of surgical procedures, instrumentation, sterile technique, and OR environment.
Excellent teamwork, communication skills, attention to detail, ability to adapt in a fast-paced setting.
Preferred Qualifications:
1+ years scrub experience in an ambulatory surgery setting.
Advanced certifications (e.g., CSPDT, CRCST) are a plus.
Familiarity with central sterile processing equipment and procedures.
Schedule / Work Conditions:
Per diem, day shifts only, no weekends.
Ability to stand for long periods, 2-3 hours max.
Environment includes exposure to blood/body fluids, surgical environment, controlled substances, and need for sterile-technique compliance.
