The Instrumentation Technician receives, sorts, and examines sterile surgical supplies. Inspects and prepares surgical items for sterilization. Loads and operates washer sterilizer, ultrasound cleaners and sterilizers. Understands and implements quality control of sterile and unsterile surgical items. Prepares surgical case set up, instruments and supplies, monitors physician preference cards and anticipates needs of OR. Assists in preparing the OR suite for surgical procedure. Assists OR staff in transferring supplies and instruments and sets up rooms for next day procedures as needed. Assists in removing soiled instrument carts to pick up area.
Financial responsibilities of the Instrumentation Technician include demonstration of stewardship behavior by conserving hospital resources, supplies and instruments.
Qualifications
