This position performs engineering assignments in support of required installation and operation of the centralized Energy Management Center and all associated mechanical & electrical components throughout the University system. About the Position This position performs engineering assignments in support of required installation and operation of the centralized Energy Management Center and all associated mechanical & electrical components throughout the University system. Under general direction, work activities include system controls, system maintenance, system design and recordkeeping. This position has a high level of responsibility and technical expertise and involves elements of controls monitoring, troubleshooting and creative analysis, design and engineering interpretation, programming, integration of new systems, process optimization, database analysis and reporting, and communications. Required Qualifications
* Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or four years of college level coursework in related engineering studies or seven years of progressively more responsible and complex HVAC engineering work.
* Knowledge of ASHRAE and IAQ standards for ventilation and mechanical systems.
* Documented experience with Siemens Apogee Building Automation Control Systems (BACS) to include but not be limited to: DDC controls applications, base level PPCL (Powers Process Control Language), computer programming language, specific accepted ASHRAE applications for sequence of operation, and computer based networked controls with central monitoring.
* Demonstrated experience or ability to work in commercial and institutional settings.
* Proficiency with SQL Database applications, MS Word, Access, Excel, Windows, or latest current version of operating system or equivalent.
* Valid driver's license or the ability to obtain one prior to starting work in order to drive a state-owned vehicle for travel to work locations.
* Technical accuracy and recordkeeping skills.
* Manage time well and work under pressure situations with tight schedules and deadlines to complete projects.

What Are We Looking For?
Ideal candidates will have the following:
BS or MS degree in relevant field (e.g., Civil, Hydraulic, or Water Resources Engineering)

Professional Engineer (PE) license in Washington

Job Summary
The Senior OSP Engineer is responsible for the execution of projects created by the Planning department. This includes oversight, extended planning analysis, budgeting and project timing network growth, modernization, consolidation, and advancement needs in a fiber\-focused business. Position Summary:
As a Mechanical Designer at FORTNA - LPS Projects, you will play a key role in supporting the design, development, and implementation of material handling systems. You will independently and collaboratively perform moderately complex design assignments and contribute to larger project teams. This role requires strong foundational knowledge in mechanical design, a growing understanding of automated systems, and the ability to operate as part of a project team working towards a common goal.
Key Responsibilities:
· Create mechanical design drawings and layouts for conveyor and automation systems using AutoCAD, Inventor, and FORTNA's proprietary 3D design tools.
· Create fabrication, integration, installation, and permit drawings.
· Participate in design reviews, assist with drawing QA/QC processes, and help prepare engineering documentation.
· Conduct site visits to gather field dimensions and validate system requirements.
· Provide technical support during installation and commissioning phases.
· Communicate progress to engineering leads and document project updates and challenges.
· Follow engineering standards and contribute ideas for improvement.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering; OR an associate's degree in Mechanical Design, Drafting, or a related field; OR a minimum of 2 years of directly relevant industry experience.
· Proficiency in AutoCAD and Inventor (or similar 3D design tool); experience with MS Office tools (Word, Excel).
· Familiarity with material handling systems and conveyor equipment.
· Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
· Strong communication and organizational skills.

The base salary range for this role is $31.78/hr to $47.69/hr. This base range represents the low and high end of the salary range for this position.
