Operational Excellence Engineer As an Operational Excellence Engineer you will be responsible for driving operational excellence to deliver year-over-year improvements in cost and productivity. He/she must be highly proficient using a PC. Experience in day-to-day equipment maintenance and SAP software functions is a plus. Main Responsibilities: The role of the Asset Integrity/Reliability Engineer is to ensure product quality and proper maintenance of plant equipment Provide comprehensive subject matter expertise for mechanical maintenance and design. Provide necessary expertise to the maintenance department for technical support of all fixed and rotating equipment. Ensure mechanical integrity and structural integrity of all units and site infrastructure. Initiate, monitor, maintain, and improve the preventative and predictive maintenance programs for site firewater and pipeline systems. Special projects as assigned. Job Dimensions: Primary focus is to ensure plant equipment reliability, and proper use of maintenance standards and codes. Proper effective installation of assigned capital projects . Optimizes the process and /or equipment. The position reports to the AIG/Reliability Superintendent. Comprehensive facilities management knowledge and experience in all facets of plant maintenance will be helpful. This entails analyzing various external regulations and procedures for application at this site. He must make recommendations that could be implemented plant-wide. His objective should be the continual improvement of reliability and all aspects of mechanical or PCS operations, either expense or capital. In the area of special assignments and projects, he will perform investigations and analyses. Establish an overall equipment asset integrity/reliability program in accordance with applicable federal regulations, corporate procedures and internal policies to ensure product quality and the safe, efficient, and cost effective maintenance of plant equipment with a more central focus on PSM-related items. Engineer and manage key capital projects and MOC's to improve safety, environmental, quality, cost, reliability, and capacity . This position's primary customer is the operational units. Refinery facilities include crude distilling, naphtha reforming, fluid catalytic cracking, alkylation, hydrocracking, hydrodesulfurization and delayed coking units. Facilities also include a specialty coker and calciner. The refinery processes a mixture of light to heavy, low- and high sulfur and low- and high-acid crude oils. It receives domestic, Canadian and other foreign crude oil through truck, pipeline, marine transportation and terminals, including the Beaumont and Clifton Ridge terminals and the Bayou Bridge Pipeline. Lake Charles produces a high percentage of transportation fuels.
