Location: On-site in Lynchburg, Virginia Your Day to Day as a Met Lab Engineer 2: * Provides technical support for lab personnel, lab processes, and lab inspection equipment. * Provides technical documentation/Metallographic reports to internal and external customers. * Interprets contract technical requirements and incorporates into area procedures. * Supports a project team, communicating status of any technical or production issue. * Supports development and implementation of new or improved inspection techniques. * Creates and revises procedures, forms, and submittals. * Supports quotes for future work scopes. * Maintains and trends relevant manufacturing/inspection data and key product attributes. * May be expected to qualify as a Met Lab Examiner. * Performs other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications: * A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Physics is required. * Must have experience in understanding, reviewing, and executing contract technical requirements. * Must be able to demonstrate superior written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills. * Must have experience providing guidance and written instructions to hourly workforce. * Ability to work in a team-oriented, collaborative environment is required. * Must be highly self-motivated and directed with keen attention to detail in order to successfully multi-task. * Must be a US Citizen with no dual citizenship. * Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) clearance.
