Your challenges:
* Accountability for the given approved repair, rework and troubleshooting instruction as well as for design update solutions in front of the corresponding design/stress office and authorities (EASA/FAA).
* Creation / approval / authorization (release) of technical solutions including structure justification reports for repairs / reworks or design updates. Standard repairs are approved autonomously, major repairs if required with the support of the Airbus Engineering departments (design, stress, fatigue, aerodynamics, material etc.) or other transnational MAP Engineering teams.
* Representing and acting on behalf of the Chief Engineering and the design offices of AIRBUS (by delegation) as well as design to build suppliers.
* The jobholder acts as an interface between the Chief Engineer/ Design office and the Manufacturing/ Quality assurance (Operations).
* To define technical solutions during NC treatment for metallic and composite structure comprising the complete primary / secondary aircraft structure (all Airframe ATA chapters linked to structures design).
* Creation, approval and monitoring of design corrective actions / improvements and preventive measures (launch of new modifications, drawing updates, design query notes) driving product improvements or non-conformity eradication.
* Provide engineering support to the FAL US during the complete manufacturing process from the delivery of the sections, FAL and flight Line activities, up to the aircraft ferry flight in all structure related items including engineering presentations in front of the customers (internal and external).
* Creation, approval and authorization of temporary aircraft definitions (special instructions) in line with design and airworthiness requirements for testing purposes.
* Present technical explanations/corrective actions to the flight test department and to the customer if required (internal and external customers).
* Performs other duties as assigned and adapted to the FAL requirements.
Non-conformities (NC's) are written by the Production/Quality departments or Flight Test Engineers, if they detect any deviations/damages during the assembly process, inspection or production flights.
* Concessions cover significant non-conformities requiring dedicated justification and corresponding engineering technical delegation.

The Role

Define/Validate Interfaces to the aircraft including development of customized modules installation requirements (including validation of both structural and system interfaces). Validate module interface points and update Customized Technical Specifications as appropriate
Guide and perform qualification and verification and validation of Cabin equipment designs including release of the Declaration of Design Performance (DDP). Ensure that the design is fully certified and all the necessary data for validation, test and certification delivered is in accordance with Program milestones.
Initiate, monitor and manage Supplier Improvements and Transformation Projects to drive performance and to ensure supplier's compliance to Airbus requirements and processes. Analyze Change Requests designs based on customer, manufacturing and/or design requirements.

In addition to the best-in-class training and state-of-the-art facilities, current undergrad students who meet the prerequisite background will also get the chance to get paid while finishing school through the Nuclear Propulsion Officer Candidate (NUPOC) program. Students in majors like mathematics, engineering, physics and chemistry may receive preferred acceptance into the program.
If accepted into the NUPOC program as an aspiring Naval Reactors Engineer, you can:
Receive a salary in excess of $4,000 per month for up to 18 months prior to your college graduation
Receive an immediate one-time sign-on bonus of $15,000
Enjoy military health care benefits while you are a student in the program

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
U.S. citizen between the ages of 19 and 29. Exceptions may be possible up to age 40.
Graduate or current student pursuing a B.A., B.S. or M.S. (preferably major in mathematics, engineering, physics, chemistry or other technical areas).
Those still in school may apply as early as 18 months from completion of an undergraduate degree for Naval Reactors Engineers.
Applicants may also join the NUPOC program as early as 12 months from completion of a master's degree.
Additional academic requirements include:
Completed one academic year of calculus
Completed one academic year of calculus-based physics
A competitive GPA and a minimum grade of "B" in all technical courses
General qualifications may vary depending upon whether youre currently serving, whether youve served before or whether youve never served before.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Preliminary training and eventual staff assignments center around Naval Reactors Headquarters at the Navy Yard in Washington, D.C. At Headquarters, you will be a part of an elite, streamlined staff of roughly 500 people who oversee the entire Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program from cradle to grave.
Even junior-level Naval Reactors Engineers assume responsibility for key technical work in a variety of state-of-the-art facilities, including:
