Job Description • Applies basic knowledge of engineering principles and practices to assigned tasks in the design, development, analysis and release of products and subsystems through the product life cycle. • Assists in creating design specifications considering application, cost, weight, performance, product life, manufacture, assembly and service. • Verifies design using analysis and or functional testing, interprets results, drives decisions and assesses risk. • Works with other engineering disciplines and cross-functional disciplines to resolve product issues. • Evaluates customer needs and aligns requirements with identified customer expectations. Manager's first preference would be to see candidates with Mechanical Engineering degrees, other engineering degrees however would also be fine. • Cross-Functional Design Review - Cross-functional design reviews are a series of in-depth and disciplined sessions that bring broad cross-functional experience to bear on designs/or process approaches and details. Able to apply the cross-functional design review procedure with limited guidance. • Engineering Standards - Developing knowledge in Engineering Standards. • Technical Documentation - Developing knowledge in Technical Documentation. • Product Structure - Product structure involves an understanding of the rationale around the identification of product items and the methodology for structuring this information into saleable, manufacturable and serviceable product. Users are expected to demonstrate proficiency in understanding and applying product structure rules such as item compatibilities, dependencies and relationships. • Intellectual Property - Understands what is meant by the term Intellectual Property (IP) and has some basic understanding the importance of protecting IP for both the corporation and the individual inventors. The incumbent in this position will perform preventive and predictive maintenance. This includes troubleshooting and basic repairs in plumbing, electrical, HVAC-R, kitchen equipment and other facilities systems. The incumbent is under the direction of the Facilities Shift Supervisor and Facilities Shift Manager, the incumbent also responds to all General Maintenance service calls. Responsibilities ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: (These functions are intended as a general illustration of the work performed in this job classification and are not all inclusive for this position) * Adhere to all Hard Rock safety requirements and ongoing training to maintain a safe working environment for all team members and guests. * Creates an atmosphere that induces guests to make Hard Rock Rockford their choice for gaming entertainment; responsible for actively building and retaining guest relations and acts as a mentor to team members to provide superior guest service. * Responsible for overall maintenance, upkeep and repairs of facility. * Will climb ladders to 20+ feet. * Responds to maintenance service calls in a timely manner. * Performs event setups and teardowns in a safe, timely manner. Moves furniture and equipment as directed. Supports other departmental events as directed. * Utilizes the Computer Maintenance Management System to create service requests and document work performed daily. Completes all work orders assigned according to their priority level. * Assists in maintaining proper inventory levels and ordering parts and materials as needed. * Conducts required drills and inspections; maintains technical logs and records all relevant data as appropriate. * Installs and makes repairs to doors, furniture, office partitions, flooring, and other carpentry related items. * Preps and prepares drywall for painting. Paints and stains wall, furniture, and other associated items. * Perform basic repairs and preventive maintenance on plumbing, electrical, HVAC-R, kitchen equipment and other operational systems. * Performs all other duties as assigned and adheres to all Illinois Gaming Regulations and Departmental Standard Operating Procedures. NON-ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS * Attend seminars when needed. KNOWLEDGE OF: * Machines and equipment including but not limited to; basic hand and power tools, spray equipment, etc. * Safe use of hazardous materials. * Certification in HVAC preferred. ABILITY TO: * Be flexible to work varying shifts and time schedules as needed. * Communicate effectively with all levels of employees and guests. * Operate aerial lifts, trucks, and light motorized equipment. * Follow oral and written directions. * Must have exceptional guest service skills. * Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Qualifications EDUCATION AND /OR EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: (Related education and experience may be interchangeable on a year for year basis) This knowledge and these abilities are typically acquired through a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 3 years of maintenance job experience. ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: (Licenses, Certifications, Testing, etc.): * Must obtain and maintain all licenses / certifications per Federal, State, and Illinois Gaming Commission. * Must successfully pass background check. * Must be eighteen (18) years of age. * Must have a VALID Driver's License that has not been suspended, denied, or revoked in the past 3 years. * No Major Violations while operating a vehicle. * Cannot have two (2) or more at fault accidents or three (3) or more moving violations. * Drivers of company vehicles must have a valid driver's license and meet the requirements/standards listed on the Motor Vehicle Permit Application provided by Hard Rock. * Must be able to work holidays and weekends, as well as flexible shifts and/or unusual hours. * Prior experience opening new properties/outlets strongly preferred.
