Effectively transition patients to the optical in order to communicate information about the patient's prescription to the Optician or eye wear consultant. QUALIFICATIONS: Competencies and Education Business acumen, self-discipline, and the ability to communicate tactfully with patients. Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity. Doctor of Optometry degree from an accredited optometry school. Successful completion of the National Board examination and a National, Regional, or State clinical examination. Responsibilities Role Overview for Optometrist: Conduct comprehensive exams, diagnose, treat and manage age-related ocular diseases, injuries and disorders of the eye. Complete required patient and clinical documentation in our optometry electronic medical record system. Responsible for applying proper coding guidelines and populating appropriate billing codes for services provided to patients. Qualifications Optometry background with proficiency in the assessment, treatment, management and evaluation of eye conditions and disorders. Ability to work independently on a daily basis. Self starter attitude with the desire to deliver quality, thoughtful and attentive care. Physical Requirements for Optometrist: Ability to stand, to bend, and to lift.
