A General Psychiatrist may provide educational presentations to agency staff and community organizations as authorized by agency administration and performs other work duties as assigned.
1. Must possess a medical degree from an accredited college or university.
2. Must possess a current State of Michigan Medical License, Controlled Substance License and Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) License.
3. Must have certification in Adult Psychiatry through American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology Inc. (ABPN), OR the ability to achieve certification within one (1) year of employment.
4. Have post graduate clinical training or one (1) year of experience in the field including diagnosing and treating persons with mental illness, developmental disabilities and co-occurring disorders.
5. Possess a valid driver's license and the ability to obtain a Michigan Driver License within 30 days of employment.
6. Must have reliable transportation that may have to be used to carry out job duties of this classification.
Preferred but not Required
1. Bilingual candidates highly desired.
2. Lived experiences with mental illness/developmental disabilities/substance use disorders valued.
3. Individuals in Recovery and individuals with experience in Armed Services valued.

A General Psychiatrist generally works at the offices and program locations of HealthWest; however, travel to locations within the County may be required.
