Primary Responsibilities The Cut and Wrap associate cuts, packages and repackage products to customer specifications. This includes cutting and dispensing product and repackaging and labeling goods to be sent out to the customers. Soft and hard cheeses, olives and nuts are taken from the vendors' containers and re-sized or packaged to meet customer specifications. This may also include re-packaging of butter or dairy goods into smaller containers or units. The employee uses hand-held cutting tools and knives, hydraulic cutting machine and scales to customize products. The products are then re-packaged, weighed, x-rayed, labeled and boxed in preparation for shipment to the customers. If desired by the customer, the products are pre-priced as well. In between product changes, the employee sanitizes the work area and follows food safety rules when working with products. The second shift of this job class also performs daily cleaning of the Cut and Wrap room in accordance with cleaning protocol. There is a monthly intensive cleaning of this area including wall and ceiling scrubbing. The employee rotates work tasks every 1-2 hours. The employee must be in good health when in the work environment and should be free from any food allergies. The work is done in a confined area. The work is team-paced and product line-paced and the employee must keep up with the work flow. Greets and responds to all customers in a courteous and friendly manner. Ensures proper merchandise presentation. Operates cash register in accordance with policies and procedures. Maintains a clean work area at all times. Provides customer service according to the Star Service program guidelines. Associate may assist in specialized areas of store including, Cash Office, Front End, Fitting Room, Stock Room, Fine Jewelry or Customer Service. QUALIFICATIONS: * High School graduation or equivalent. * Two years truck driving experience on a commercial delivery truck with manual transmission. * One year of general warehouse experience. * Possess a valid Washington State Driver's License with a class "A" CDL endorsement preferred. * Ability to obtain forklift driver/electric pallet jack certification, and to pass district administered truck driver training course. * Must have and maintain excellent driving record. Must sign waiver for district to obtain personal driving abstract prior to assignment and on an annual basis. * Must be organized and highly dependable. REQUIREMENTS: * Ability to work effectively as a team member and team leader as needed. * Ability to work with frequent interruptions. * Ability to meet tight time constraints and deadlines including but not limited to varying working hours when necessary. * Regular attendance to carry out the duties and responsibilities of the position to achieve program requirements, goals, and outcomes. * Ability to climb ladder(s). * Ability to lift supplies and equipment weighing 1/3 of your body weight up to 50 pounds. Ability to lift, move and/or carry safely items weighing up to 300 pounds, using mechanical assistance when necessary. * Ability to communicate with a variety of people, in person, in writing, electronically and over the phone. * Ability to drive to various district locations. * Ability to obtain job related certifications as directed. * Ability to climb in and out of trucks many times during the day. * Ability to drive safely to various district locations. * Ability to read, understand, and follow written and oral instructions. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: * Drive a manual transmission truck to pick up and deliver inter-office mail, and various types of equipment. Deliveries made according to a regular schedule. * Pick up cafeteria receipts (money) and deposit at bank. * Respond to truck orders as required. * Perform daily maintenance on vehicle; complete work order if more extensive maintenance needed. * May assist in warehouse as needed; including taking inventory. * Treat co-workers, supervisors, students, and patrons with dignity and respect at all times. * Serve as a positive role model for students, and practices the behaviors that are expected of our students. * Work in a flexible and cooperative manner. * Perform other tasks and assume other responsibilities as assigned by supervisor. However, employees who have verified prior years of service in a similar occupational status from other Washington School Districts or Education School Districts, may receive experience credit towards salary placement.
