Job Summary

Primary Responsibilities
Load and unload freight on trailers using a motorized forklift, pallet jack or manually in compliance with state and federal DOT guidelines. Use various loading techniques, such as loading tight or cross loading.
Transport self and/or freight continuously throughout the service center on non-forgiving surfaces.
Utilize Dock Yard Management System to consistently monitor freight shipment locations throughout the service center.
Read and interpret shipping labels. Familiarity with, and in some cases ability to complete the various forms utilized in freight movement such as shipping orders, city stripping manifests, freight bills, overage/damage movement reports and exception forms.
Hand load, rewrap or stack freight as necessary.
Insure the quality loading of all trailers.
Secure freight inside trailers using appropriate tools and supplies (e.g. pallets, straps, rope).
Frequent contact with service center personnel; fast-pace and deadline oriented.

(Pushing/Pulling) Must be able to perform frequent pulling and pushing of freight with or without the help of freight pulling equipment up to 100lbs. Must also be able to push and pull forklift blades, forklift gas tanks, deck bars, and other freight related items.
(Hearing/Speaking) Must be able to see parts in and on the forklift mechanical equipment for pre and post inspections. Must be able to hearing the horns of other forklifts and shouted instructions and warnings.
(Reaching) Must be able to frequently reach for freight at waist level and occasionally reach for freight above shoulder height or below waist level. Must be able to reach for forklift controls, pushing deck bars, and placing/strapping airbags/straps/cardboard. Must be able to reach while sweeping work areas clean of debris.

logic and reasoning in reading manifests, tablets, reading boxes and order numbers
Auditory and visual processing to inspect forklifts, driving, reading, listening for horns and/or other cross-dock traffic and speaking with other dock workers. Must be able to see and read bills of lading, tablets for yard management systems, and read printed materials. Must be able to see and scan areas of work for debris and defects.
(Other) Must be able to work a variety of times and shifts in order to meet customer pick up and delivery schedules.
Ability to work in extremely hot or cold climates, ability to work in an environment where noise and odors may be present.

Perform one or more DC outbound functions such as loading, picking, or packing orders for shipment. Perform all tasks according to the proper method for the DC-WMS or paper ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Locate and pull merchandise by matching item codes and numbers on the pick ticket against part number on the merchandise. Place merchandise in tote or stage bulk items in the appropriate area. When the order is completed, mark the tote by customer number and send down the conveyor.
Make sure all totes are labeled for the correct store and do not exceed 60 lbs.
Maintain DC standards for both accuracy and productivity when picking orders.
Consolidate and pack all stock order merchandise quickly and accurately so the order can be checked in efficiently by the customer.
Itemize all products not shipped in totes on the freight bill as soon as they are received. Make sure all freight bills are dated with the correct route and totaled at the day's end including hazardous material.
Operate handheld computers (RF units) and/or voice picking equipment at WMS DCs.
Check items off of the freight bill as they are loaded, making sure the number and types of items loaded match the freight bill total.
Load trucks quickly and accurately. Tie and secure freight as it is loaded onto the truck.
Keep picking zones supplied with totes as needed, and repair totes as needed.
Start printers as necessary and sort tickets and labels by zone.
Operate equipment for any outbound functions.
Keep the work area neat and clean, dispose of cardboard and trash properly.
Team members with experience may be designated as trainers. As a trainer, take ownership of the DC target training program ensuring that all training is conducted according to schedule, and that all documentation is complete. Explain specific job duties and functions to help ensure the success of new team members, as well as to convey any departmental or procedural changes to existing team members.
Maintain safety standards while operating and identify unsafe practices and situations.

This position will be responsible for, among other things, stages, shrink wraps and loads products by trip number and store number as it is received from the packing and pulling areas of the stockroom. Prepares palletized loads for shipment by shrink-wrapping product to ensure safe transportation or storage, including safe and proper balancing and placement of products. Additionally, this position assists with safe and proper pallet building and selects products for specific routes.
Responsibilities:

Inspects trailers for suitability before loading
Ensures correct parts are placed on the correct truck - packs the right parts for delivery to the right customers with accuracy and speed, maps out the organization of loading customer orders from skids to trucks

Maintains the integrity of products through proper handling and storage
Keeps work area clean to avoid potential accidents and to allow for rapid loading
Pulls stock orders until time to load trucks as needed
Assists with processing other DC shuttles
Works in a safe manner following all safety procedures, rules and regulations
Performs all other duties as assigned by management
Experience, Education, and Abilities:
High School Diploma or 6 months of equivalent work experience required
Forklift certified preferred
Regular, reliable, predictable attendance
Able to speak clearly and listen attentively
Capable of recognizing and distinguishing letters and numbers (both visually and aurally) and remembering their sequence
Should have basic computer APGJCe skills
Capable of lifting and moving merchandise of up to 60 lbs.

As a Warehouse Material Handler, you will work with the team to ensure products get where they need to be, unload delivery vehicles, receive inventory, store product, and select and pack customer orders. Work Shift and Hours:
* Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm
Compensation Details:
* The expected pay rate for this position is starting between $18.00-$19.00 per hour depending on experience.
In this role you will:
* Operate warehouse equipment such as pallet jacks, forklifts and push carts
* Unload and accurately receive deliveries
* Store product in specific location and note in system
* Select and pack customer orders and at times deliver customer orders in light van or delivery vehicle
* Maintain clean warehouse including following all safety procedures and performing daily safety inspections
What you bring to the table:
* Able to perform physical requirements in a warehouse environment including lifting up to 70 lbs., cutting wire, climbing ladders and staying on the move in various temperatures, depending on the location
* Safely operate warehouse equipment and proper use of PPE
* Good attendance and work ethic
* Able to perform tasks quickly and accurately
* Minimum 18 years of age required
