Summary Line 1 Packaging Technician role offers a diverse range of responsibilities to team members looking to immerse themselves in all areas of L1 packaging, positions include but not limited to palletizer and packaging operator. Operating each work week under a rotating schedule allows each team member to contribute in several aspects benefiting our CBN goals on a weekly basis. Job Description Actively participates in Lamb Weston Safety and Good Manufacturing Practice programs. Conducts packaging quality checks per procedure and by request of the Packaging Lead, Team Leader Production, Team Leader quality, Team Leader Area Production, and Line Structure Team. Performs all Daily Management System standards per schedule to include CILs, FSILs, CLs, and Defect Handling. Operates cohesively with additional Line 1 Packaging Technician team members in management of the Line 1 packaging area; Including but not limited to all job functions from the L1 transfer room, frozen and Bio-Print sorters, L1 Ishidas, Lambpaks through the case sealers, and the interstitial room through the Palletizer. Engages in scheduled AMD activities. Forklift driving, with dry supply and wooden pallets to the line. Performs quality checks including not limit to metal detector checks, back seal checks, bag codes, and bag seals. Daily sanitation includes basic housekeeping of packaging room area. Basic & Preferred Qualifications Education/ Certifications: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred. Skills and Experience: Must be able to communicate, comprehend, and follow instructions in English (both written and oral). 1-2 years of experience in Food Manufacturing, or related field, preferred. Functions well in team environment. Demonstrates capable troubleshooting skills. Capable of thinking critically. Basic understanding/ Proficiency in PC skills; Windows, Word, and Excel. Trained and qualified in L1 Bio-Print, L1 Frozen Sorters, L1 packaging operations, and palletizer positions. Sanitation qualification is required. Training will be provided for additional qualifications. Team member must be Lock-out/Tag-out qualified. If qualification is needed training will be provided. Inspects and maintains the equipment to ensure proper processing. Inspects the quality and of the product and documents the result at certain intervals of the production process. Completes daily shift production logs. Coordinates with lab technicians to ensure product quality. Investigates, monitors and reports deviations from production standards. Education, Experience and Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalency. Minimum one-year process and equipment experience. Excellent computer skills; familiarity with operation software. Excellent hand-eye coordination; safety cautious. Experience working with lab testers and plant equipment. Ability to follow directions, and work well with little supervision. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Driver's license. Ability to safely and effectively coordinate multiple projects/tasks. Bilingual skills are (English/Spanish) preferred. Must have the ability to work different shifts and overtime. This includes the possibility of short-term and long-term shift reassignment to match the needs of the business. Physical Requirements: Must be able to work in an environment with exposure to extreme cold and hot temperatures; work around dust, fumes, and/or moderate to loud noises. Able to lift, pull, carry, and pick-up objects weighing up to 50 pounds. Essential functions may require maintaining physical condition necessary for climbing stairs and ladders, sitting, walking on paved and unpaved surfaces, and standing for prolonged periods of time; operating a computer and keyboard; visual acuity to review written documentation; ability to hear and understand speech at normal room levels and on the telephone; manual dexterity to operate a telephone; lift horizontally and vertically, bending, stooping, and reaching. Able to climb stairs and ladders; walk on paved and unpaved surfaces; sit at a desk and operate a computer and keyboard; visual acuity to review written documentation; ability to hear, speak, and understand speech at normal room levels and on the telephone; manual dexterity to operate a telephone; lift horizontally and vertically, bend, stoop, stand, and reach. Able to work in environment that involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions. Criminal background check and drug screen required.
