Our production operators specialize in setting up, operating, and tending compounding mixing/extruding machines to process a variety of products that our customers use to manufacture a vast array of finished products.

The applicant we seek will be responsible for:
Holds safety in highest regard by making good safety decisions, following safety procedures, watching out for the safety of self and others, contributing to safety improvements, and participating in safety programs.
Produce compound samples according to specifications by using production equipment, devices, and instruments (extruders, scales, feeders, classifiers, pelletizers, dies, visual display units, dials, and calibrators).
Keeps machinery and mechanical equipment operational by performing preventative maintenance tasks on machine and equipment.
The Operator adds color mix to the feeder by using a tow motor/forklift to lift the color pot up to the platform and setting it in the proper slot.

Environment for Manufacturing Machine Operator/Equipment Operator:
This position is in our Wyoming location focused on metals. The manufacturing machine operator will be working with multiple balers to bale metals. It is often loud instead the plant due to machinery. PPE is required such as hard hat, safety glasses, high vis, steel toed shoes, and gloves when needed. This role is inside all day in a plant that is hard to regulate the temperature (it can be hot or cold depending on weather outside).

Manufacturing Machine Operator / Equipment Operator Position Summary:
The Manufacturing Machine Operator is responsible for safely operating equipment such as hi-lo, loader, forklift, sweeper and/or small loader to assist in loading, unloading, grading, inspecting, buying and transportation of materials.
Mechanical experience is a plus as the machines do break down and it is helpful to do what we can without calling maintenance.
Distinguish between numerous grades and types of materials using basic identification tests according to company standards
Perform required bore, during and after-operation user maintenance
Monitor equipment, troubleshoot and/or notify management of any malfunctions that occur
Maintain and protect all property entrusted to you in excellent condition
Prepare various documents and reports
Troubleshoot and mechanical diagnosis to identify repair needs such as motors, gearboxes, augers, pulleys, conveyors, and more.
Prepare and complete required paperwork
Manufacturing Machine Operator / Equipment Operator Qualifications:
Six months operating small equipment experience preferred (hilo, loader, forklift, scissor lift)
Equipment operation and preventative maintenance knowledge (conveyors, pulleys, etc)
Loader operator experience preferred
Hilo experience required
Good interpersonal and customer service skills
Ability to multi-task and work in a fast pace environment
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Accuracy in operation and attention to detail

Sets up and operates machine to produce acceptable product according to Sur-Seal's process.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Accepts materials for each assigned job, reviews and evaluates prior to beginning.
Reads job specifications (job traveler) to determine machine adjustments, material requirements and to fully understand process prior to beginning each operation. Fills out sequence at every operation completed.
Sets stops or guides to specified length as indicated by scale, rule, or template.
Positions work piece against stops or aligns layout marks with die or blade.
Activates machine and obtains first run work piece, inspects part, and verifies dimensional tolerances before continuing to run.
Selects and sets speed and feed of machine according to type of operation and specified material and finish.
Follows up with team lead to verify any questions if necessary.
Observes machine operation to detect work piece defects or machine malfunction. Completes first piece and last piece comparisons throughout the run.
Performs operation to acceptable quality standards, packs/stacks/marks parts if required.
Follows all safety policies and procedures.
Accurately completes all documentation as required to complete each job.
Performs housekeeping duties around work center to avoid slips, trips, and falls.
