The Napkin Packer is responsible for packing finished product, machine adjustments and relieving operator(s) for lunch/breaks. The individual will efficiently perform work activities in keeping with current production, quality, safety and housekeeping standards. Job Description SCHEDULE: TUESDAY - SATURDAY; 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM RESPONSIBILITIES AND JOB ACTIVITIES: 1. Your scheduled start time is: 6:55am, 2:55pm, or 10:55pm depending on your shift. On external packaging materials, ensure correct tape and labels are used with appropriate positioning per the product specification sheet. MSDS sheets must be included when specified. 9. Ensure all products stacked on skids are properly positioned and correctly wrapped to the skid. Skid tags must be accurately and completely filled out. 10. Inform Material Handlers about production packaging needs well after packaging is needed. (This helps reduce downtime) 11. Perform specified quality checks as required. 12. Ensure the daily line packaging reports are completed accurately and completely by the end of the shift. Also make sure the appropriate batch sheet is completed. (If applicable) 13. Maintain a neat, orderly, and clean department and work environment throughout the shift. 14. Assist with the training of new personnel. 15. Be flexible in regard to working on multiple production lines on an as needed basis. 16. Perform duties as a team member by assisting coworkers as needed. 17. The packaging machine operator (“packer”) is an entry level position at PPC Industries. This position is designed to give the employee an opportunity to learn about the blown film business with the option to move further within the corporation. The packer will generally be responsible for packaging finished product from multiple extrusion lines. In addition to packaging product, the packer is also essential in the quality control process, the set up process and assisting in the operation of the extrusion process. A successful packer will be a motivated individual with the desire to learn the details of the extrusion process and to progress their career at PPC Industries. The packer position is a full time position that supports blown film manufacturing at PPC Industries' Pleasant Prairie facility. Essential Job Functions All safety regulations must be observed. Packers must also follow all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and Good Documentation Practices (GDPs). Packaging finished product appropriately as trained. Responsible for quality of product that is being packaged. Keep work area clean / organized. No product or packaging materials should be on the floor. Packers will be responsible for properly handling scrap product (from in front of as well as behind packaging equipment). Packers should only bring the materials they need to their lines-no extra pallets or boxes. Perform Quality Control checks as required by Standard Operating Procedures (SOP). Responsible for operation of the rewind machine (Doctor machines). Responsible for the operation of the winder equipment (front end only). May also be involved in the order selection of Standard tool orders and the inventory verification and placement of incoming stock into proper locations Principal Responsibilities Pull, pack, verify and ship customer orders for Standard Tool catalog items. Operate SAP EWM system by utilizing hand held scanner to verify customers order and to maintain inventory items. Package and label “Specials” tool orders, verify quantity and shipping information, band and transfer to packing line. Verify counts and place incoming inventory items in proper storage locations. Operate UPS shipping computer and scale to weigh and label sealed packages. Place all outgoing packages into proper shipping container for pick-up by contract carrier. Daily cleaning of work area to maintain clean, orderly and safe working conditions. JOB PURPOSE: The Picker Packer is responsible for safely and efficiently removing finished products from production machines, inspecting them for quality, and packing them according to company standards. This role ensures products meet all SQF, ISO, and customer requirements, while maintaining a clean and organized work area to support overall production efficiency and product quality. ESSENTIAL TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Remove die-cut items from stackers or sheets and inspect them for defects.
