Assists Pharmacy Manager and Staff Pharmacist in developing and maintaining good relationships with the local medical community, including physicians, nurses, and other health care providers, by medical provider detailing and outreach to health groups, retirement homes, nursing homes, and other forums for enhancing growth opportunities. Assists with exterior and interior maintenance by ensuring the Pharmacy Department is stocked with adequate supplies, clean, neat and orderly in condition and appearance. Assists in ordering, receiving, unpacking, and storing pharmaceuticals and supplies in appropriate locations. Participates in the quality improvement activities of the department: Completes all assigned medication storage area inspections in a timely manner. Conducts quality monitoring, collects data, and completes documentation, as assigned. Adheres to infection control protocols. Complies with all state and federal pharmacy regulations and requirements. Keeps pharmacy areas clean, neat, and well organized. Keeps pharmacy equipment clean. Maintains competencies required for current position: Attends staff meetings. Participates in orientation, education, and training programs. Reviews literature and other materials as assigned. Completes all competency/skills assessment requirements annually or as directed. Maintains continuing education/professional growth and development. Contributes to effective operation of the department: Assist patients/customers, answer questions. Enters charges and credits for patient medications accurately. Ring all sales in the cash register and collect payment from patient. Generates reports, pick lists and labels as required. Answers the telephone, identifying self and department. Directs calls to appropriate personnel. Answers requests at the window in a timely manner. Organizes and prioritizes work assignments. Maintains logs, records, and other required documentation accurately. Files in appropriate locations. Demonstrates good verbal and written communication including, but not limited to, patients, coworkers, and physicians. What You Will Need Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent required. Possess current pharmacy technician registration in the State of New Mexico. Possess current National Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT). Six (6) months pharmacy technician experience preferred. Successful completion of a formal Pharmacy Technician training course preferred.
