Job DescriptionPharmacy Intern Thrifty White Pharmacy is seeking a Pharmacy Intern in Fargo, ND to provide exposure in all aspects of the community pharmacy setting and to let them practice as many pharmacist duties as they are prepared to handle (per State Board requirements).
A few of the primary responsibilities include:
Providing excellent professional service to customers to build loyalty and repeat business.
Helping prepare hard copy insurance claims when necessary.
Obtaining and documenting approval for refill prescriptions from physicians to ensure proper authorization is recorded on all prescriptions.
With experience; counseling patients on their medications. Works with the Pharmacist Preceptor to learn all functions of the Pharmacist's job.
Providing and promoting immunizations in store and with local employers, community centers, and government officials.
Answering patient questions in the OTC aisles and becoming familiar with products offered there.
Supporting full completion of Medication Therapy Management activities. Prepares information for Pharmacists to complete Comprehensive Medication reviews and assists in these meetings with patients.
Seeking out and pursuing opportunities to educate at senior centers, employers, doctor's offices, public officials and other community gatherings.
Making antibiotic call backs after 3 days of patient being on antibiotic to see if the therapy is helping and if the patient has any questions or concerns.
Good attendance and punctuality is required in order to fulfill the essential job functions.

The Sanford Aberdeen Pharmacy department is a dynamic and critical part of patient care, working closely with interdisciplinary teams as the medication experts. **Job Summary**
Review prescriptions to assure accuracy, to ascertain the needed ingredients, and to evaluate their suitability. Provide information and advice regarding drug interactions, side effects, dosage, and proper medication storage. In a medical center or institutional setting, the Pharmacist reviews and interprets provider orders, provides drug information, assists in problem solving, and provides other aspects of pharmaceutical care. Duties may consist of unit dose dispensing, IV Admixtures, outpatient prescriptions, navigating the electronic medical record, compounding, and working with automated dispensing devices. The Pharmacist utilizes appropriate age-related patient information to assess the pharmaceutical needs of patients, which may include provision of pharmaceutical care to neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients. Pharmacy services at Sanford Health may include involvement in acute care surgery, neurology, cardiology, pediatrics, oncology, infusion services, intensive care, general medicine, dialysis, transplant, antimicrobial stewardship, and medication reconciliation. **Qualifications**
