Core Work Scope & Responsibilities
Reporting to the Director of Facilities, the Housekeeping Attendant plays a vital role in ensuring the cleanliness, safety, and overall positive experience of all visitors to the Alan Horwitz “Sixth Man” Center. This full-time position is responsible for maintaining a sanitary, welcoming environment across assigned facilities and projects, including locker rooms, floors, grounds, and general custodial areas.
Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Clean and sanitize floors, furniture, bathrooms, locker rooms, office areas, and equipment according to assigned daily checklists.
Vacuum, sweep, and dust all areas, including furniture, light fixtures, and equipment, in line with established cleaning procedures.
Routinely monitor trash receptacles and dispose of waste in accordance with organizational protocols.
Ensure all program equipment is clean, sanitized, and in proper working order.
Use cleaning products and supplies correctly and safely, following product label instructions.
Maintain supply closets and shop areas in neat, organized, and safe condition, with all supplies and chemicals properly labeled.
Report any damage, hazards, needed repairs, or suspicious activity in assigned areas.
Set up and break down equipment as needed to support events and daily programming.
Manage lost and found procedures by logging the date, location, description of items, and the name of the person who found them.
Perform additional housekeeping and custodial duties as assigned to support facility operations.
Qualifications Position Requirements
Education - High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Experience - 1-3 years of experience in housekeeping, custodial services, or customer service. Experience working in a children or family-oriented environment is preferred.

Scholar-Mentors serve as caring educators, role models, and facilitators, supporting the academic and social-emotional growth of youth in grades K-8 within PYB's Community Learning Hub. This role balances academic enrichment with mentoring, relationship-building, and culture-setting. Reporting to Program Managers and working in collaboration with facility staff, responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Academic Support & Enrichment
Lead structured academic enrichment activities in reading, math, and other core subjects using provided curriculum and playful learning strategies.

The Maintenance Engineer reports to PYB's Director of Facilities and is responsible for ensuring clean and effective physical plant operations and maintenance of the Sixth Man Center and all assigned facilities. This role oversees the upkeep of building systems, equipment, and safety protocols to ensure a safe, functional, and welcoming environment for youth, families, and community members.

The Sixth Man Center
Located in the Nicetown neighborhood of North Philadelphia, the 100,000-square-foot Alan Horwitz “Sixth Man” Center is a world-class facility designed to provide a safe and welcoming space for youth, caregivers, and community members to access basketball and non-basketball programming.

The Generator (4272 Wissahickon Avenue)
PYB is in the pre-construction phase of developing a Capital Generator of Career Development and Economic Opportunity to serve young adults ages 18-29. The Generator will provide upwardly mobile career pathways in select industry sectors and, like the Sixth Man Center, will house on-site operating partners delivering core services.
The Chief Operating Officer will play a central role in bringing this project to life, ensuring seamless integration with PYB's campus and program model, and advancing the organization's ability to help thousands of young adults self-determine their futures.
Core Work Scope & Responsibilities
The Chief Operating Officer (COO) reports to the Chief Executive Officer and serves as a corporate officer with signature authority on behalf of Philadelphia Youth Basketball, Inc. The COO is responsible for creating and overseeing operational systems, managing material contracts and partnerships, and leading multiple departments to ensure the efficient and effective use of organizational resources.
The COO will play a critical leadership role in shaping PYB's operational strategy, overseeing the daily functioning of the Alan Horwitz “Sixth Man” Center campus, and advancing organizational excellence in service of PYB's mission.
Organizational Strategy & Leadership
Oversee the Sixth Man Center master scheduling process for peak and off-peak usage, pricing, and registrations, resolving conflicting opportunities for site use.
Serve as the primary PYB approver on material contractual agreements across all departments, supporting department and program leads with negotiations, contract requirements, and operational implementation.

Standards and Processes
Compile and maintain a comprehensive Facility Handbook outlining material standard operating procedures (SOPs) across the Sixth Man Center.

Establish and manage organizational inventory and procurement standards in collaboration with the CFO.
Maintain vendor relationships across PYB to identify cost savings, partnership expansion, and administrative efficiencies.
Serve as the primary liaison for Co-Located Partners' lease agreement execution and operational integration.
Direct PYB's IT strategy, data governance, and system integrations.

Campus Management
Lead planning, contracting, and execution of campus improvements, including traffic light installation, adjacent land acquisition, exterior signage, and related projects.

Serve as PYB's primary liaison to the Project Manager for the 4272 Wissahickon Avenue, Phase 2 construction project (a 40,000 sq. ft. career training facility to open by 2029), focusing on the integration of core systems and service providers such as security, audio-visual, furniture, solar, utilities, and telecom.
Board-Level Support & Engagement
Attend all Board meetings and Board Executive Committee meetings.

Qualifications
Position Requirements
Experience - Minimum of 10 years of progressive leadership and management experience, ideally within nonprofit, youth development, or community-based organizations. Demonstrated success in supervising senior staff, managing complex budgets, and leading organizational growth and change.
Education - Bachelor's degree in business administration, nonprofit management, or a related field required; advanced degree strongly preferred.

MSPP Lead Coach-Mentors serve as both a program leaders and a role model, overseeing after-school and Saturday sessions, integrating basketball instruction with SEL, literacy support, and leadership workshops. This position carries responsibility not only for athletic development but also for student well-being, family engagement, and equity-centered programming.
Reporting to PYB's Manager of Basketball Programs, he/she will be responsible for:
Program Leadership & Delivery
Lead after-school basketball sessions two days per week at the assigned school site.
Ensure that all practices and off-court sessions align with MSPP's balanced model, which integrates athletic skill-building, mentorship, academic encouragement, and leadership-focused curriculum.
Facilitate weekday off-court check-ins with students that focus on Social-Emotional Learning (SEL), creating space for reflection, community-building, and personal growth.
Collaborate with the Coach-Mentor to develop and deliver weekly on-court lesson plans.
Maintain regular communication with school faculty to stay informed about student academic performance, behavior, and overall well-being, supporting a holistic approach to student development.
