As a Picker/Packer Associate, you will be the backbone of Colony Hardware when it comes to preparing orders to get them ready to deliver to our customers. You will be a critical part of our process that keeps the commercial construction industry and our industrial customers working.
A Little About Your Day:
From day to day, you will be responsible for the selection of merchandise and preparing them out for shipment.
Operating with a strong attention to detail, you will read pick tickets, prioritizing most critical orders, verifying items picked match the pick tickets.
You will send all picked orders to the packing department after verifying all items are free of defects or damage, and then move the completed orders to appropriate shipment locations.
To maximize accuracy, you will pack goods following a specific set of instructions and procedures, properly sealing, and labeling all shipments.

Responsible for daily preparation of orders for shipment and completion of shipping forms, while ensuring quality and production expectations are met for accurate and on-time completion of customer orders
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Prepare orders for shipment, ensuring accuracy and on-time fulfilment
Set up work area and obtain necessary equipment and materials
Accurately select finished goods from stock using an Intermec handheld scanner and tablet
Pack, seal, label, stencil, and prepare goods for shipment
Complete required documentation, including packing/shipping forms, bills of lading, and UPS/FedEx records
Load outgoing shipments and verify carton counts against bills of lading
Operate forklifts and material-handling equipment as needed
Unload incoming overseas shipment containers that are floor loaded and palletized
Perform basic computer functions for order processing and record-keeping
Maintain a clean and organized work area following 5S standards
Assist in other areas of distribution as assigned by the supervisor

Requirements:
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, and decimals)
Must be willing to operate a pallet rider-will need to complete onsite training and pass certification
Must be 18 years or older
Must be legally permitted to work in the United States
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous warehouse experience in an order fulfillment or shipping/receiving role
Experience with inventory management systems or warehouse software
Forklift certification or prior experience operating material-handling equipment
The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a high school diploma and/or GED
Physical Requirements:
Regularly bend, stoop, reach, twist, lift, push, and pull materials
Frequently stand, walk, and lift items up to 70 lbs
Ability to operate a pallet rider and forklift (after training/certification)
