3. Performs troubleshooting procedures of an aircraft on the ground and in flight, and
makes appropriate (verbal or written log entry) recommendations to assist ground
personnel in correcting deficiencies.
4. Performs recovery and ferry flights.
5. Instructs maintenance personnel for aircraft ground run-up and taxi operations to
prepare employees for certification.
6. Keeps abreast of and complies with FAA and local flying regulations and safety
procedures as applicable for the job.
7. Maintains proficiency in basic flight maneuvers, appropriate aircraft emergency

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

that the individual is qualified to operate.
2. Must hold a valid and current FAA Commercial Pilot certificate with rotorcraft and
instrument ratings in the aircraft class (fixed, rotary or both) for which a position is
offered.
3. Must hold a valid FAA Instrument rating in the designated aircraft class for which job is
offered.
4. Must have recorded (and proof presented) a minimum of one thousand (1,000) hours as
pilot in command in the specific aircraft class for which a position is offered. Must have
recorded (and proof presented) a minimum of one thousand five hundred (1,500) hours
of pilot in command in the specific aircraft class for which a position is offered with five
hundred (500) hours experience in helicopters of which at least two hundred fifty (250)

assuming Maintenance Test Pilot duties in those aircraft. Job candidates who meet
qualifications 1 through 4 can be provided an AMOC Phase II course within one hundred
eighty (180) days from entering the classification to become Phase II AMOC II qualified,
provided the Government approves AMOC Phase II flight training. Failure to successfully
complete the required course will disqualify the employee for this job classification.
3. Maintenance Test Pilots flying UH-60, CH-47, or AH-64 aircraft, have successfully
completed MTPC prior to assuming PC and MTP duties in those aircraft.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
1. Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole integers,
common and decimal fractions.
2. Ability to compute rates, ratios, percentages, and interpolations necessary for aircraft
and engine performance.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
GS-2181-12 (Airplane Pilot/Helicopter Pilot):
Applicant must possess a USAF Pilot rating, hold a valid aviation service aeronautical order and have a minimum of 750 total military flight time in the organization's mission design series.
GS-2181-13 (Airplane Pilot/Helicopter Pilot):
Applicant must possess a USAF Pilot rating, hold a valid aviation service aeronautical order and have a minimum of 1,000 total military flight time in the organization's mission design series.
GS-2181-13 (Flight Instructor):
Applicant must possess two years of progressively responsible experience in a flying component of the U.S. military establishment in assignments that normally would qualify for progression into the position of Wing Operations and Training Officer or its equivalent.

* Prioritize safety by meticulously completing pre-flight checks to ensure the aircraft's airworthiness, signing off the Daily Flight Log and conducting thorough walk-arounds before and after each flight.

Visual Flight Rules (VFR) Program - Required Flight Times:• 2000 total flight hours with minimum of 1500 flight hours in category• 1000 hours PIC in category• 500 hours of rotor wing turbine time• 200 hours of cross-country flight time, at least 50 hours of which were at night• 100 hours unaided night as PIC (or 50 hours of unaided with 100 hours of NVG time)• 50 hours total actual or hood instrument time in flight and in category (simulator time does not count)
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations• Commercial & Instrument Rating (for category and class of aircraft);• ATP rating in category also meets the above requirement.• First or Second-Class FAA Medical certificate required.

* GS-13 (Flight Instructor): Assist with planning, organizing, and overseeing the activities of the Operations Group and subordinate Reserve flying squadrons, in conjunction with the Chief/Senior Air Reserve Technician (ART).
* GS-13 (Flight Instructor): Assist with management of a flying and ground training program for an organization.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
GS-2181-12 (Airplane Pilot/Helicopter Pilot):
Applicant must possess a USAF Pilot rating, hold a valid aviation service aeronautical order and have a minimum of 750 total military flight time in the organization's mission design series.
GS-2181-13 (Airplane Pilot/Helicopter Pilot):
Applicant must possess a USAF Pilot rating, hold a valid aviation service aeronautical order and have a minimum of 1,000 total military flight time in the organization's mission design series.
GS-2181-13 (Flight Instructor):
Applicant must possess two years of progressively responsible experience in a flying component of the U.S. military establishment in assignments that normally would qualify for progression into the position of Wing Operations and Training Officer or its equivalent.
AND
Must possess a USAF Pilot rating, hold a valid aviation service aeronautical order and have a minimum of 1,200 total military flight time in the organization's mission design series.
GS-2181-14 (Flight Instructor):
Applicant must possess three years of progressively responsible experience in a flying component of the U.S. military establishment in assignments that normally would qualify for progression into the position of Wing Operations and Training Officer or its equivalent.
AND
Must possess a USAF Pilot rating, hold a valid aviation service aeronautical order and have a minimum of 1,500 total military flight time in the organization's mission design series.
NOTE: Pilot hours as described above may include (Primary, Secondary, Instructor, Evaluator, Stimulator, Student and other US Military and Foreign Military Time) in mission design series of organization of position being filled. You must submit an ATAFR-209 Form, Flying History Report or any official document what shows your most recent flight (last date actively flown), total flight hours and type of aircraft flown. FAILURE TO SUBMIT THE REQUIRED DOCUMENTATION AS DESCRIBED ABOVE, WILL RESULT IN AN INELIGIBLE RATING.
These are Air Reserve Technician (ART) positions. ARTs are eligible for 15 days active duty tour each year for which military leave is granted with full civilian pay. Air Reserve units and members; are subject to immediate call to active duty in mobilization to meet a national emergency. For additional information regarding ART positions and/or military qualifications, please call **************. Retired military are usually ineligible for membership in the AF Reserve. Retired military that have active AF Reserve assignments may apply provided they show assignment (position) on the application.
A military service member's statement of service/certification will be accepted IF a terminal leave form or DD214 cannot be provided. The statement/certification should indicate member's separation from active duty is within 120 days of the closing date of this announcement. It must be signed by, or by direction of, the adjutant, personnel officer, or commander of your unit or higher headquarters and must indicate when your terminal leave will begin, your rank, dates of active duty service, the type of discharge and character of service (i.e. honorable). Your preference and/or appointment eligibility will be verified prior to appointment. Individuals selected for ART positions must meet both civilian qualifications and uniformed military requirements.
