They will be required to interpret design schematics, cut and shape dies, and assemble completed parts. The Tool and Die Maker will be responsible for testing the performance of the completed product. The Tool and Die Maker should have in-depth knowledge of metalwork and engineering, a good eye for detail, and the ability to visualize structural components. They should be able to translate ideas into expertly crafted metal forms ready for the manufacturing process. The Tool and Die Maker will report to the Tool and Die Supervisor. Responsibilities: * Support and follow the company safety, environmental, and quality programs. * Wash, prepare, and maintain dies. * Read and interpret blueprints, design schematics, and CAD drawings. * Visualize and compute metal shapes and tolerances. * Design jigs and templates as work aids in the fabrication of parts. * Measure and mark metal stock for machining. * Use overhead crane as needed. * Set up and run machine tools such as drills, lathes, grinders, and milling machines. * Cut and shape blocks to specified dimensions. * Fill, grind, and shim metals to ensure a smooth finish. * Fit and assemble tools and die parts. * Obtaining first piece approval. * Make process improvements. * Complete paperwork and revise process sheets. * Ship and receive tooling. * Transport dies between storage areas and production sites. * Maintain die location records. * Inspect finished dies and tools for defects, smoothness, and contour deformities. * Conduct test runs with completed tools and dies. * Perform all other work as deemed necessary by supervision. Preferred Qualifications: * High School Diploma or GED. * Tool and Die Journeyman Card * Two years of experience in die set-up * Ability to climb * Ability to lift 40 pounds unassisted * Knowledge of dies and repairs * Math skills (algebra) * Understand press operation Job Location: Performed on the plant floor. Equipment Used: Presses, die movers, forklift, band saw, grinders, block and tackle, drill press, lathes, impact wrench, set-up wrench, hand tools, gauges, micrometers, jacks and extractors, protective earplugs and safety glasses. Truck mounted crane and tractor-trailer when applicable, safety glasses, ear plugs, arm guards, gloves, and all required personal protective equipment.

Responsible for maintaining daily operation of equipment, preventative maintenance on process equipment and facility systems, providing emergency repairs as needed with moderate supervision. Installs new equipment and inspects and repairs existing equipment. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Follow safe work practices and support safety goals and objectives. Work from prints, diagrams, schematics, specifications, instructions, operations manuals, and manufacturer's manuals and specifications, to perform scheduled and emergency repairs. Makes all necessary mechanical repairs on equipment, including replacement, repair and installation of sleeves, bearings gears, shafts, pins, etc. Piping installation and ability to determine correct materials for each service. Can read and understand piping specification and engineering drawings. Safe operation of industrial equipment such as forklifts, aerial lifts, scissors lifts, hoists, rigging, etc. Troubleshoot and repair steam systems. Pump repair and installation. Steel and sheet metal fabrication. Maintains and improves preventative/predictive maintenance programs. Estimate required tools and materials for assigned tasks; communicate and ensure parts, supplies, etc. are on hand for task Take direction from work order system and complete work, including all required paperwork/data entry in SAP-PM Communicate with Supervisor of issues as they arise and provide updates at shift change on work order status Provide training to other technicians in areas of expertise Communicate on a daily basis cross-functionally (Technical, Production, etc.) Maintain a clean and safe work environment through effective housekeeping. Appropriately respond to emergency situations. Support compliance efforts - RCMS, ISO, PSM, OSHA, etc. Manage time to effectively perform multiple job tasks safety and accurately. Complete logs, batch sheets, and other required paperwork. Attend meetings and training as required. Must be able to work overtime as needed. Must be able to work various shifts, including off shift or swing shift as required. Follow all EHS policies and procedures. Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in the areas of Safety, Quality, Cost, and Production. Journeyman Card or two year certification Knowledge of distributive control system (DCS). Ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization both written and orally. Must be self-directed. Working knowledge of computer applications (Word, Excel, E-Mail) Ability to follow instructions, record data Able to lift and/or carry up to fifty (50) pounds and physical dexterity to assemble polymerization reactors Ability to work at heights and walk on grating. Work in various climates (indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions). Stand and walk throughout assigned shift. Must be able to wear a respirator and other required PPE. Work in an environment with various chemicals on a daily basis. SKILLS, ABILITIES & KNOWLEDGE: PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Experience in a Chemical Manufacturing environment Experience working in a HPWP. Familiar with ISO-9001 and Process Safety Management. Welding Certification and applicable experience; SMAW, GTAW, GMAW Predictive maintenance experience - Vibration analysis, lubrication analysis, etc. Steam system experience preferable. Electrical and Instrumentation experience is a plus. Reading, Applied Mathematics, Applied Technology, Locating Information, Observation, Teamwork.
