Responsibilities
Comply with all safety regulations and company policies.
Ensure press is running at full capacity, while working to improve efficiencies, and producing quality product that meets customer specifications and demand.
Support and participate in continuous improvement efforts to include Kaizen, 5S and other events, as required of this position. This includes activities to this specific position/department, as well as company-wide initiatives.
Operate the press safely and identify unsafe work behaviors, areas and methods that have opportunities for improvement.
Complete and maintain accurate production records both manually and with computer systems to maintain inventory control.
Manufacture quality finished products that meet customer specifications and meet or exceed established production standards.
Perform required set-ups and changeovers as required including but not limited to;
Determining print job specifications and all activities relating to press set up, selecting proper Anilox rolls, printing stock and print sleeves, threading material into press, adjusting slitter knives, preparing inks for upcoming work order to match print deck location and ink up press, etc.
Run make ready rolls, check quality specifications, run machine and print, conduct quality checks as needed based on specifications and record in system, pull sample rolls and archive, properly label and tag finished and/or RTS rolls, collect retain samples, package rolls according to customer specifications and have product taken to warehouse.
Perform machine clean-ups as required and maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment.
Identify and react to production problems such as, shortage of raw materials, safety issues, inventory issues, out of spec raw materials, quality concerns, etc.
Troubleshoot machine problems and determine which problems need to escalate to maintenance and/or plant supervisor.
Attend and participate in meetings and training sessions as required, e.g. safety, quality, production, team, informational, etc.
All other assignments assigned by management.

Comply with all safety regulations and company policies.

Determining print job specifications and all activities relating to press set up, selecting proper Anilox rolls, printing stock and print sleeves, threading material into press, adjusting slitter knives, preparing inks for upcoming work order to match print deck location and ink up press, etc.
Run make ready rolls, check quality specifications, run machine and print, conduct quality checks as needed based on specifications and record in system, pull sample rolls and archive, properly label and tag finished and/or RTS rolls, collect retain samples, package rolls according to customer specifications and have product taken to warehouse.
Perform machine clean-ups as required and maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment.
Identify and react to production problems such as, shortage of raw materials, safety issues, inventory issues, out of spec raw materials, quality concerns, etc.
Troubleshoot machine problems and determine which problems need to escalate to maintenance and/or plant supervisor.
Attend and participate in meetings and training sessions as required, e.g. safety, quality, production, team, informational, etc.

The ideal candidate can work with minimal supervision, understands all aspects of sheetfed offset printing, and consistently meets registration and color standards. Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills, knowledge of press crew organization and die position, familiarity with Quality Control programs, and clear communication with supervisors and other departments are essential.
Compensation & Incentives

Key Responsibilities
Lead and participate in a 3-person press crew to produce high-quality printed products
Set up, operate, maintain, and troubleshoot sheetfed offset printing presses
Achieve and maintain registration, color standards, and overall print quality
Assist feeder operators and assistant pressmen as needed
Hang plates, prepare loads, and verify substrates, sheet size, and caliper
Mix inks, maintain proper ink levels, and ensure correct PMS color matching
Replace blankets and monitor for imperfections such as smashed blankets, scratches, or other defects
Review job specifications prior to production to ensure correct materials, inks, and plate sequencing
Coordinate with the Print Department Supervisor on scheduling and workflow
Communicate with other departments to maintain efficient production flow
Order inks and printing supplies from approved company vendors
Train and mentor assistant and feeder pressmen on pressoperations, quality expectations, and safety practices
Operate Power Industrial Vehicles as required
Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED required
5+ years of sheetfed offset lithographic printing experience preferred
(Candidates with less experience or other relevant printing backgrounds will be considered)
Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability
Ability to read a tape measure in both standard and metric units
Working knowledge of PMS color systems
Familiarity with Quality Control procedures in a production environment
Ability to learn and use printing software associated with KBA printing presses

You will operate state-of-the-art printing presses to deliver high-quality printing and finishing services for film, paper, and specialty materials. What You'll Do

Ensure product meets the quality requirements set by your Supervisor/ Manager
Perform printing jobs of 1-10 color surface and reverse print as needed
Set up for cylinders, plates, sleeves and anilox rolls
Provide direct oversight to Press Assistant on assigned machine on primary tasks
Assign tasks each shift as needed
Checking ink, shafting rolls, splicing, threading machine, cleaning work environment
Work as a team to ensure all jobs are done timely and accurately
Train and coach assistants as needed to elevate their job performance
Shaft new rolls of paper on each shift
Splice new rolls to existing web and thread machine when necessary
Identify and react to production problems (safety, quality, shortage of raw materials, out of spec raw materials and inventory issues).
Troubleshoot machine problems and determine which problems need to escalate to maintenance and/or supervisors
