Essential Duties and Responsibilities * Read and interpret job specifications to determine proper machine settings, including cutting pressure, depth, and speed. Install, align, and secure the correct cutting dies, anilox rolls, and other machine parts according to technical drawings and job orders. * Load materials into the machine and monitor its operation during a production run. Adjust guides, feeders, and die pressure as needed to ensure consistent and high-quality output. * Maximize equipment efficiency by running machinery at optimal capacity and speed. Continuously monitor product quality by inspecting samples for defects like incorrect size, poor cutting, crushing, or alignment issues. * Identify and resolve operational issues as they arise, such as material jams, misalignments, or inconsistent cutting. Troubleshoot common mechanical problems to minimize downtime and report more serious repair needs to supervision. * Perform routine cleaning, lubrication, and basic maintenance tasks to keep the machine running smoothly. Perform routine and preventive maintenance on press brakes, including cleaning, lubrication, alignment checks, and basic repairs to ensure operational efficiency. Collaborate with engineers and production teams to recommend process improvements, setup times reduction, tooling upgrades, or programming enhancements. Assist with training less experienced operators when needed. Support quality control and process optimization by maintaining documentation for all operations, maintenance logs, and quality reports. Adhere to safety protocols, including proper use of PPE, lockout/tagout procedures, while maintaining an organized and efficient workstation. Qualifications: Minimum 3 years of experience operating CNC press brakes in a production or job-shop environment. Experience with CNC press brake programming. Strong knowledge of metal properties, including mild steel and stainless, and how they react during forming and bending. Proficiency in reading blueprints, bend drawings, flat patterns, and bend deduction charts. Solid understanding of metallurgy, including how different metals react to bending forces, material thickness impacts, and factors like spring back and K-factors. Familiarity with precision measurement tools (calipers, gauges). Ability to troubleshoot mechanical and forming issues independently. Strong attention to detail, safety, and quality. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Ability to lift up to 75 lbs., stand for extended periods, and perform repetitive tasks in a shop environment with potential exposure to noise and machinery.
