Responsibilities:
Continuously checks for print and seam quality.
Removes defective material and splices the roll web back together per the specification.
Utilizes a ruler, safety knife, and hole punch during splicing procedure (tools are used at other times as necessary).
Handles rolls and palletizes them accordingly as to not cause damage to them.
Must understand basic printing and seam related defects.
Recording and entering data on designated paperwork as well as in the company operation system (Globetek).
Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Ability to add and subtract, multiply and divide to figure label counts and conversions. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
Ability to use simple Windows-based applications.
The physical demands require standing, using hands to finger, feel and touch; reach with arms and hands; talk and hear. This position requires frequent walking. Occasionally employee is required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Must be able to regularly lift or move up to 50 pounds.
Specific vision requirements are close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

LOAD AND UNLOAD • Inspects all product at beginning, during and end of process for defects and quality issues that will show through the coating. Inspects for proper masking when applied.
• Works as a team to ensure all coating materials meet customer specifications with regard to quality.
• Loads and unloads castings on the line, selecting and using proper hooks and hangers, per PDS.
• Applies specified coatings to product in accordance with standards for proper coverage, thickness, and surface quality. Watches for light coverage or bald spots and applies touch up paints as needed by brush, pot gun or similar equipment.
• Identifies defects in material and paint such as pullback, light coverage, insufficient coating, etc.
• Maintains work space cleanliness to ensure quality product.
• Positions completed product on skids and/or in containers per customer specifications.
• Keeps a clean and organized work area. Cleans hopper, gun, and booths as necessary.
• Performs multiple changeovers depending on color and gloss requirements based on customer specifications.
POWDER APPLICATOR
• Moves switches and dials to start flow current and to activate conveyor and paint spraying equipment.
• Turns valves and observes gauges to set pressure and to control flow of paint to each spray station.
• Adjusts thermostat to maintain specified temperature in paint tanks.
SPRAY APPLICATOR
• Performs color changes required by customer specifications.
• Applies specific coating to parts.
• Inspects raw castings for defects before powder is applied.
• Ensures color chip matches powder coat scheduled.
• Maintains cleanliness of booth, spray gun, hoppers and surrounding areas.
• Empties waste hoppers and returns powder to storage daily.
• Wears protective PPE such as respirators and Tyvek suit; follows all PPE requirements.
MASKER/DETAILER
• Inspects parts for pre-paint and post paint defects.
• Applies masking material to parts as described in work documents.
• Secures masking material in place with appropriate tape or gummed material as determined in work instructions.
• Removes masking material and inspects areas for coverage where none is required.
• Applies rust preventative to unpainted surfaces.
• Packages parts to customer specifications.

Communicate with previous and following shift to exchange information and learn of problems.
Perform first piece and in-process visual and/or dimensional checks of parts in manufacturing process ensuring conformance to customer specification, appearance, finish, etc., as described in the Control Plans and work instructions.
Operate assigned machines in area to produce customer products, meeting company production and quality standards.
Perform set up of all machines in assigned area. Make adjustments and tool changes as needed over the duration of the shift.
Visually inspect all parts and gauges according to procedures to ensure compliance with specifications.
In areas required, load and unload heat treat oven.
Utilize hardness testing equipment to verify product quality.
Perform basic daily preventive maintenance, machine care and cleaning activities according to CIL Standards.
Complete and maintain all paperwork, records, documents, etc. as required.
Assist other operators when needed.
Train new employee for an assigned area.
Maintain a valid forklift license and support with material handling duties as necessary.
Qualifications:
Requires a high school diploma, equivalent, or relevant experience
Basic math experience
Ability to perform the operation sequence of processes using standard instructions
Ability to obtain a forklift license by KSLP standards
Background in Manufacturing is ideal
Ability to use small hand tools, hand gauges, and read blueprints
Experience with robotics preferred but not required
Familiarity with metric system is ideal but not required
