Injection Operator (Nights) Injection Operator performs a variety of tasks requiring knowledge of injection processes and responsible for day-to-day operations associated an array of PET and HDPE injection equipment and its auxiliary equipment. *(Niagara purchases primarily Husky, but also other OEMs). Essential Functions Essential Functions Responsible for overall preparation, set-up, starting and running injection equipment. Ability to perform minor adjustments to injection equipment as directed. No mechanical work is to be performed without prior approval. Responsible for accurately completing and updating information forms and logs such as Injection preform and/or cap daily log, destruction logs and quality forms. Ability to recognize unsafe conditions and actions and follow plant safety rules including safe lifting practices and safe machine operations. Personal protective equipment is to be used where required. Performs visual and mechanical quality checks to ensure production meets quality standards. Housekeeping: maintain general housekeeping in all areas of production, including the break rooms and rest rooms. Raw materials: Be able to define the difference between Vpet, Rpet & HDPE resins. Ability to identify parts safe for grinding and reintroduction to the resin system. Maintain quality requirements in accordance with company standards; accurately filling out inspection sheets based on overall production quality. Responsible for recognizing and reporting all quality defects immediately. Ability to work in multiple areas of production with minimal supervision; perform relief duties when required Ability to troubleshoot minor production equipment issues in all areas and collaborate with maintenance team as necessary. Understanding of computer systems such as Shotscope, Electirc80, Ignition and others. Comprehension of line flow and manufacturing process to maximize through put. Ability to communicate issues clearly and concisely. Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of the job. Ability to work 12-hour shifts, day or night, on a rotating 2-2-3 schedule. JOB OVERVIEW: This will involve set up, adjusting, maintaining, and configuring processing equipment according to assigned specifications, and regular communication with production personnel and supervisors and the completion of required paperwork. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:• Turns on all support equipment necessary to run the facility as needed.• Must do visual inspections and complete documentation during the run to insure defect free work.• Load corrugate, labels, bottles/cans, glue, carriers etc… in appropriate machines.• Performs minor package change-overs on equipment as required, as well as change- over to proper raw material.• Performs preventative maintenance on equipment with regards to cleaning and clearing them of debris and materials.• Assist line mechanics in machinery repair or other tasks as/if needed.• Must insure that all equipment is on and functioning properly prior to starting a run. Air is on, all conveyors are on.• Must do visual inspection of boxes to insure proper box/tray is used and the graphics on the box/tray are acceptable.• Watch flow of materials, i.e. Cans/bottles/boxes/trays, etc… into appropriate machine. Job Description The Rubber Machine Operator produces molded products or parts from pre-mixed standard rubber or plastic compounds. The Machine Operator observes continuous operation of automatic machines to ensure that products meet specifications and to detect jams or malfunctions, making adjustments as necessary. Other key tasks include measuring and visually inspecting products for surface and dimension defects in order to ensure conformance to specifications, using precision measuring instruments; positioning and securing work pieces on machines, and start feeding mechanisms; and turning valves and dials of machines to regulate pressure, temperature, and speed and feed rates, and to set cycle times. The Machine Operator removes finished or cured products from dies or molds, using hand tools, air hoses and other equipment; trims excess material from parts, using knives, and grind scrap plastic into powder for reuse; and cools products after processing to prevent distortion.
