What you'll do: Locates buried facilities near the route of "B" service wire using appropriate equipment. Operate a company vehicle with trailer and machinery. Locate buried facilities near the route of buried wire using appropriate equipment. Manual excavation utilizing a shovel. Provide repairs to low voltage buried utilities or sprinkler systems. Provides temporary repairs to low voltage buried utilities, sprinkler systems, and sewage field lines damaged while performing other duties. Periodic maintenance and non-complex repairs to equipment used in the performance of other responsibilities. Reads and interprets simple instructions. Follow established safety practices and procedures including the manufacturer's specifications for operation or use of equipment. What you'll need: Desire to work Monday through Friday with a shift length of 8hrs. Ability to work mandatory overtime and holidays as service conditions require. Eager to work outside in all kinds of weather conditions. Able to utilize various types of machines and tools. Lift and move objects up to 120 pounds. Use computers including hand-held devices to update work status and check new assignments. Light commercial driver's license or equivalent required, depending on state law and be able to drive manual shift in some assignments. Attain and maintain a DOT medical card. Uses ANSI/ASQ Z1.4 sampling standard, part drawings, and specifications to determine inspection and testing required as well as acceptable quality levels. • Selects products for inspection evaluation at specified stages in production process, performs various visual, dimensional, performance, mechanical, electrical, or chemical inspections per required characteristics. • Report any unusual circumstances to supervisor and perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned. • Basic computer skills with windows based programs. • Responsible for the observation of department regulations and to use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required; must be safety conscious and Lockout/Tag-out trained.
