Operate Processing machines within the Processing Team will be Flex operator to various positions.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES (Key focus areas / accountabilities including how those accountabilities are managed with percentage of time allocation for each result)
Safely set up, adjust and operate processing machines such as mixer, laminator, oven, and scaler. Will rotate positions, give breaks, and operate as schedule requires; may be scheduled to cover Utility driver. Maintain area in good housekeeping order, complete required paperwork, and perform other duties as assigned by supervision. Participate as team member to accomplish training and cover schedules. Overtime and occasional weekend work may be required. Support and participate in preventive maintenance program. Heavy lifting will be required. Comply with food safety procedures and follow plant GMPs.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Determine the appropriate tools and equipment needed to perform a job
Calculate dimensions and tolerances using knowledge of mathematics and instruments such as micrometers and Vernier calipers
Read blueprints and job orders to determine product specifications and tooling instructions and plan operational sequences
Set-up and start machines, pull handles, use part fixtures, etc. or use other means to engage feeding, cooling, and lubricating mechanisms, etc.
Manually position, adjust and secure stock material or work pieces against stops, in fixtures, or automatic feeding mechanisms
Monitor the feed and speed of machines during the grinding process
Observe the machine operation to detect work piece defects or machine malfunctions; adjust machines as necessary
Inspect work pieces for defects and measure work pieces to determine accuracy of machine operation using micrometers, gages, templates or other measuring instruments
Perform minor machine maintenance such as oiling or cleaning machines, adding coolant to machine reservoirs, etc.
Performs other related duties or responsibilities as requested or required, whether or not specifically mentioned in this job description.
Must be a “US Person” as defined by US Government and able to work without restriction with ITAR related data.

Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in a facility with temperatures as low as 35 degrees F. Must come to work dressed appropriately: warm layers, thick socks, hat and gloves to be worn under food safety apparel, etc. Slip-resistant and safety toe shoes are mandatory.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position, Monday-Friday with some Saturdays. Work schedules are updated weekly and are dependent on production schedules. Production Team Members may be scheduled to work 8-12 hours per day.
