TCC is the largest provider of higher education and workforce services in Hampton Roads, enrolling nearly 25,000 students in 2024-25. Founded in 1968 as a part of the Virginia Community College System, Tidewater Community College (TCC) services South Hampton Roads with 4 campuses in Chesapeake, Norfolk, Portsmouth, and Virginia Beach, 7 regional centers and 2 important cultural institutions. The college had 3,399 graduates in 2024-2025, 40 percent of whom pursued degrees that would let them transfer to 4-year institutions. Of South Hampton Roads residents enrolled in higher education 33% enrolled at TCC. TCC's institutional accreditation is affirmed through 2027 by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges.
The Center for Military and Veterans Education's (CMVE) Benefits Processing Office (BPO), located at the Virginia Beach campus, will support the CMVE/Veterans Affairs Offices by providing accurate and timely processing of enrollment certifications.
Functional Responsibilities:
* Review incoming ECR forms for certification in accordance with the Dept. of Veterans Affairs and State Approving Agency.
* Process/certify enrollment certifications using Enrollment Manaager software. Responsible for all initial certifications for students using the various GI Bill.
* File records of enrollment certifications via ImageNow/Perceptive content.
* Send email communications to students for classes that cannot be certified for benefits explaining why and the next steps the student needs to take to get classes certified.
* Set up/update the Enrollment Certification Request (ECR) gravity form (used by TCC students) each term.
* Set up/update Enrollment Manager for certifications for new terms and new programs.
* Monitor and respond to students through several global email accounts on a daily basis.
* Collaborate with OIS to place mass "holds" that prevent students from being dropped due to non-payment for those using Post 9/11 GI Bill/CH33.
* Process (approve or disapprove) purchase orders from Tungsten. Collaborate with Veterans Readiness and Employment (VR&E) counselors to facilitate certifications for CH31 students. Prevent CH31 students from being dropped due to non-payment.
* Collaborate with CMVE Office staff for VMSDEP processing of benefits.
* Review and adjust DND (do not drop) holds throughout the term.
* Review outstanding CH33 tuition payments each term; provide status of these accounts to the business office throughout the term. Contact Dept. of Veterans Affairs as needed to reconcile accounts.
* Process expired benefits letters to the student, staff and business office for billing.
* Review certifications done by CMVE staff for quality and completeness.
* Assist campus staff with processing drops and withdrawals, graduations, suspensions, last date of attendance and all other mandated reporting requirements.
* Coordinate with CMVE staff for advising issues, i.e. Placement test results, self-placement, pre-admissions programs.
* Assist in training campus staff and work study students in submitting the enrollment certification request forms.
* Review all processes for continuous improvement.
* All other duties as assigned

May be required to perform other duties as assigned. May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.
KSA's/Required Qualifications
* Become a School Certifying Official by completing the initial online training provided by the Dept. Of Veterans Affairs. Complete all subsequent yearly professional development requirements as mandated by the Dept. of Veterans Affairs.

Job Description
Our Processors evaluate all information supplied on the mortgage loan application, verify the validity of the information, and assemble a completely documented file to Underwriting and Closing. Processors are the primary liaison between the Branch, loan officer, loan officer assistant, realtors, builders and the customer(s).
•Maintains knowledge of all policies and modifications to the guidelines and standards of the company, federal housing programs, investors, and private mortgage insurers.
•Maintains and updates loan application information within loan origination software and other applications.
•As applicable, orders appraisals, title, survey, verifications, and any other items required for loan approval; conducts regular follow-ups with outside sources regarding outstanding documents.
•Verifies the data collected, analyzes, and decides whether it meets guidelines or if other documentation is needed; documents communication through the conversation log; ensures loan application is in compliance with underwriting, investor, RESPA, and HMDA guidelines.
•Calculates income, reviews assets and liabilities.

What You'll Do
Accurately package a pipeline of builder and broker loans funneled to you by Mortgage Loan Originators, managing an average of 20+ loans at a time
Ensure timely, proactive phone and email communication with borrowers throughout the loan origination process
Handle all loan documentation and meet deadlines consistently
Establish strong upfront relationships with borrowers and guide them through the loan process
Determine borrower creditworthiness by gathering and analyzing credit reports, qualifying ratios, income and expense data, employment documentation, and property values
Verify and analyze all required financial and legal documentation from pre-approval to closing, ensuring loan files are complete and satisfy underwriting conditions
Proactively identify and mitigate potential issues that may arise during the origination process
Collaborate with internal and external teams to drive loans to a timely and successful closing
Provide operational feedback to management and suggest alternative models to improve efficiency and conversion rates
What We're Looking For
2-3 years of experience actively managing a pipeline of residential mortgage loans
A solid understanding of the mortgage loan process and various loan types, including FNMA, FHLMC, FHA, and Jumbo
Knowledge of agency conventional underwriting product guidelines
Proficient in the Encompass loan origination system and the Microsoft Office suite
Proficiency in builder portals Kind, Click & Close, or similar.
Proactive and engaging communicator with the ability to thoughtfully guide borrowers through the loan process
Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of solving problems independently
Compensation
This range reflects total cash compensation, which may include base salary only or base salary plus target bonus, depending on the role. Where eligible, equity may also be offered separately and not included above. Actual compensation varies based on location, experience, and qualifications.
Total Cash Compensation: $15k per hour plus role specific incentive
