Basic Qualifications * High school education or GED equivalency. * Ability and willingness to use basic hand tools and measuring devices (i.e. - dial calipers, rulers, tape measures, protractors, micrometers, gauges, etc.) as required within department. * Basic understanding of blueprint and process sheet interpretation. * Prior working knowledge of machine shop operations. Essential Functions & Responsibilities: * Operate hand tools such as scrapers, files, deburr-knife, burr-bits, emery cloth, etc. * Operate mechanical equipment such as drill presses, turning equipment, sanding wheels & belts, buffing and grinding wheels; operate optical comparator. * Perform visual inspection of parts subsequent to assembly steps. * Verify and change tools when necessary; report problems to appropriate resources and/or Coach. * Keep all team members informed on special problems involving operation or set up. * Perform mechanical inspection to verify in process parts for conformance to print & specifications using standard measuring equipment; may assist with proto-type or first-time builds. * Assists the team in development and/or improvement of procedures and process sheets. * Perform daily machine preventative maintenance. * Keep equipment in operation by making timely adjustments. * Utilize proper PPE, safety equipment, and follow safety procedures. * Participate in and support team initiatives. * Assists in Manual Machine Shop when needed. * Proactively work to improve efficiency and quality of products. * Understands and abides by the GE Behaviors. * Other duties as required.
