Position Summary
Participates in the filling of containers with various plumbing materials or assembling various plumbing products to contribute to the timely completion of customer orders for distribution.
Position Responsibilities
Complete production tasks on a rotational basis as assigned by the supervisor/team leader of the department.
Retrieve and verify raw materials; follow department procedures to produce, package, label, and palletize finished products.
Process unused raw materials and maintain workplace organization throughout the day.
Refer to charts for the necessary measurements, PPE, batch coding, etc.
Complete production documentation as required.
Inspect product for quality (labels, weights, visual).
Assist in the cleaning of the work area and department.
Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge and Experience
Self-motivated with the ability to work at the appropriate pace to meet production targets.
Ability to work in teams, communicate one-on-one or in small group.
Manual dexterity.
Knowledge of various equipment (Fill machines, pallet jack, box cutters, and batch/RF gun) is helpful.

This equipment includes (but is not limited to) straightening and cutting machinery, grinding equipment, mechanical presses, final cut machines, bending fixtures, heat treating furnaces and tempering ovens, barrel tumblers (wet and dry process), sorting fixtures, assembly fixtures, hand trucks, media separators, hoists, and other equipment to support the flow of product through the metal finishing process. Additionally, a variety of hand tools may be used during a normal shift, such as transfer shovels, brooms, pick tools, screwdrivers, wrenches, and other miscellaneous tools to support the uptime of machinery, and to promote a clean working environment.
Job functions include:
Read and understand job routers/travelers and instructions for the purpose of completing jobs.
Operate various equipment such as listed above in the summary.
Use material handling equipment such as hand trucks and media trucks to move product within the facility.
Perform preventive maintenance for manufacturing equipment and facilities related equipment. This includes:
Lubricating gearboxes, bearings, and pinion gear sets periodically.
Cleaning of dust/debris from the equipment and work area daily.
Visual inspection of equipment prior to and during operation.
Monitor operation of equipment and make recommendations for reactive maintenance to the Production Manager.
Utilize measurement equipment such as micrometer, caliper, and 6" scale.
Ensuring all product is manufactured per the documented requirements.
Requirements:
1+ year(s) experience in a manufacturing environment as an equipment operator or other mechanical discipline.
Previous machining experience is not required but is preferred.
Ability to read and understand/interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and customer related documents such as instructions on job routers, prints, production records, and customer prints.
Must be able to use a caliper, micrometer, optical comparator, protractor, and other necessary inspection tools (Metric and Standard/SAE).
Must read, write, and comprehend English as a primary language.
Must be able to count, add, subtract, multiply, divide, and perform other basic math skills.
Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to work near moving mechanical parts, airborne particles, loud sustained noise, vibration, and pressurized systems. PPE (safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, etc.) are provided.
Physical Demands: Must be able to stand and/or sit for extended periods of time. The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 40 pounds unassisted, 80 pounds assisted. Must be able to operate machinery such as pallet jack, hand truck, hoist, and other common material handling equipment as needed.

3) Mount payoff reels on power payoffs, neutralizer payoffs or cradle payoffs, thread machine through closing dies, taping machines and drain wire applicator to takeup reel and insure proper finished reel traverse packages.
4) Change gearing or input data into electronic controller unit to obtain specified lay.
5) Set-up tapes, bindings, fillers, markers and drain wires as specified
6) Attend to machine during operation, making adjustments to all machine tensioning equipment and cable/ tape lays as necessary. Change payoff and takeup reels, tapes and fillers as required.
7) Perform cabling tasks in conformity with the quality inspection checklist, the manufacturing instruction sheet (MIT), the safety work practice summary, cabling scrap procedures and the cabling set-up sheets.
8) Complete workcenter documentation, including OD chart forms, length sheets, traveler reel tags, traceability sheets/tags, labor reporting sheets, scrap tickets and any other necessary documentation.

Expedites repairs to the line working with maintenance as necessary.
Keeps daily records of downtime and machine operations.
Follows SOPs for all operations.
